Why me. Just met some friends this morning at our supermarket and they are planning a trip to WDW this September. They want to stay onsite and have narrowed down to PORS or CBR. Now we have stayed at both and loved them, however they have noticed that Port Orleans now have queen size beds where Caribbean resort still has doubles. They asked me how bigger are the queens to the doubles? I've no idea as we always had a double in our last visits. So for help of pulling my hair out,can anyone come up with the bed sizes? I think I know why they want to find out as both him and her are,how can I put it,on the slightly large side, and have a son aged six and daughter aged eight who are about the right size for their age.So I can only presume father & son in one bed, and mummy & daughter in the other:shrug:So Iam in your debt for the answer!

Whit!!! I get the feeling Iam gonna regret this, but what is the difference between a standard king and a Californian?

CA King 72"x84" long"
King 76"x80"

California King Size beds may be found either in the master bedroom or for exceptionally tall kids.

King size beds are usually found in the master bedroom here in the states

If you stop to think about it, one rarely lays at the top of the mattress. If you lay on a pillow, that will place you at some distance off the headboard, making the foot of the bed closer than you'd realize. That extra length is usually appreciated by the taller sleeper.
I usually ask for a king bed because of that (not to mention my boyish figure has turned into a oversized middle aged man that needs the extra width as well).
The only place I've noticed an upcharge for a king bed is POFR which is $25 more per night, which is outrageous.
