Becoming an Imagineer

I decided to create this thread sort of based on a continuation of the discussion in Eddie Sotto's thread. There are several members here on WDWMagic that someday hope to make land a position in WDI.

This thread is meant for discussion between these people and others to find resources, learn from others, and just discuss the aspects of Imagineering. It's not meant for posting your attraction/show ideas, concept, etc. All of that information can be posted within the Imagineering sub-forum itself.

So to start the thread off, I might as well ask who here on WDWMagic really intends on trying to be an Imagineer, and if so, in what position? Why do you want that position?

Well as of now, I'm a sophomore in high school, and I really do want to become a WDI. I'm into 3D arechitecture design on computers, using Autodesk. I love my class, but my instructor does not know how to teach. Anyway, Designing buildings and rides would be a dream come true. I practice with google sketchup and I'm working on a recreation of Space Mountain.
I just have one question- I'm also in a Cisco program that deals with repairing network servers, computers, building computers, pretty much working inside the computer. Is there a specific job that deals with fixing or upgrading computers for rides and attractions? Thanks xD

It is something i would really love the opportunity to do.

I also like the concept and design idea, but I also like getting very hands on in terms of building and implementing the ideas.

I ask this as well. I am really into computers and at the same time would love to be an imagineer.

Show Writer, Conceptual Design or even Decorative Artist. I pretty much would do any of these.

As to why...well, I have been working in the art, illustration and freelance design fields for the last 20 something years.
I also run a theatrical company that does themed shows, murder mystery events and puppet experiences which I write and direct.

I do design, costuming, puppet and mask building, decorative painting, illustration, performing, puzzle creation and writing.

I have been working on a resume presentation for a while.

Concept artist, graphic designer, and researcher (I don't mind learning about all the details to make things authentic.)
