I love thrill rides. I've also turned all 3 of our kiddos (not really "kiddos" anymore, I guess - 19, 21 and 22  ;)) into thrill ride junkies, much to the delight of my DW. She tolerates many, but is not a part of the junkiedom. :D
Anyway, it's really not that super intense, to me anyway. And this is comin' from a guy who is overweight, has high blood pressure (controlled by meds) and a heart condition (although pretty benign, for the most part - supraventricular tachycardia). I have also been cleared for these trill rides by all my Docs. Also, I have been on Mission: Space orange as many as 3 straight times in a row walk-on.
Just go for it. It may be a bit intense for you, but, unlike M:S, I can't recall anyone ever sayin' that their whole day was ruined because of ridin' it and if it isn't for you you don't ever have to do it again. But, at least, you can say you gave it a whirl...! ;) :)

It is a lot less intense than some coasters, but quite a bit more intense than Big Thunder, which, as coasters go, is about as mild as it gets, other than toddler coasters.

There is only one kind of big drop where you will get that "stomach in my throat" feeling. It's the part that has everyone screaming and that you can see if you're standing outside, looking at the mountain. I can see people finding the backwards part a bit intense, but it doesn't have that "drop" feeling (or "stomach in my throat" feeling) because you are not physically dropping.

I tend to think that sitting toward the front would be easier for you, but I would avoid the very front row, because what you see might freak you out more than what you're actually feeling.

I also think that if you really want to try it, you should suck it up, brave it out, man (or woman) up and Do It. You only live once. If you want to conquer that fear, do it!!! ("I think I can. I think I can.")

If you change your mind at the last second, you can bail. The exit is right there, just around the corner. :)

If you like speed then you are missing out by not doing RnR. It's smooth, fast and has none of those big drops that give you that stomach in throat sensation.

Everest is more intense to me because it has a few tight turns, a decent drop and the backwards section. BUT, I would still recommend trying it once! :)

If you merely 'tolerate' BTMRR, stay away from EE. It's like a combination of BTMRR and Disneylands Matterhorn, except with a backwards part and a less functional yeti.

The intense part (IMHO) is the backwards part. That's the part that you feel the G's. (And in the [almost] dark, too).

I would not recommend anyone to do EE if they can't/won't do TOT.

It's your vacation too. Don't do things that bother you.

Depending on when you go, the singles line can be a walk-on. If he goes on w/o you you won't be waiting long for him (unless he does it 4-5 times in a row like I sometimes do).

See, I would disagree with that. I won't do ToT anymore (one and done) because I didn't like the drops and the uncertainty. I do enjoy Everest, and ride it at least once (but sometimes only once) a trip.

First time I did Everest was with my eyes closed the whole way--didn't want to see scary yeti! Don't do that!!! It's best to keep eyes open. It's really not that long a ride, but very thrilling.

I hated Alien Encounter because it was scary--not sure if that helps you place the EE ride. I do like roller coasters and do all the MK mountains, EE, and RnRC...but I won't do ToT again.

After being drug onto The Incredible Hulk at IOA under false pretenses, that pretty much did it for launch roller coasters in my book. haha

Everest is pretty tame when compared to others coaster offers at nearby parks. But if you barely can get through BTMRR then it's a pretty wild ride. The backwards part is the worst for G forces (or the best part for those like me!) and the dark will leave you a bit disoriented. I'd try a few more rides at BTMRR before attempting EE.

I can understand your feelings, but Rock n Rollercoaster isn't nearly as intense (or fun) as Hulk.
Hulk is awesome, one of my favorite coasters.

For the OP, if you ever visit Universal, try The Mummy's Revenge. It's tamer than Everest but with more thrills than BTMRR. And the surprise elements really add to the experience.

My DH is a huuuuuge thrill seeker..me...not so much. I have been wanting to ride EE since I first saw it being constructed, but I just don't know about it. I do pretty well with BTMRR (not that that's saying much haha) and I'm just wondering how it compares? Is it going to be super intense? I HATE that feeling of my stomach being in my throat. How much of that am I going to have to endure should he succeed in dragging me on there?
It is intense in sections but it is a must do. The drop looks worse than it is because you turn out at the bottom of the drop it really takes away that stomach drop effect quite a bit. The backwards part is one of the most intense things in all of WDW in my opinion but you HAVE to do it maybe the best ride in WDW. Conquer the Yeti!!!

When I was telling my DH about EE I was like...I want to do it..but that drop. I just can't judge it. But since it turns out I maaaaaaaaaay be able to handle it.

Oh, my gosh. RnRc isn't even close to as rough as Hulk. Compared to Hulk, RnRc is a smooth and easy ride.

I'm not a fan of the Hulk, but do ride all the other coasters over and over. Hulk doesn't scare me, I just don't ride it. It's been years since I did, but what I remember was having my head bang around a lot. Maybe I should re-ride to remember why I don't like it, lol.

But don't take any other coaster out of the running because Hulk was too much. Hulk is in a league all by itself.

I love coasters, the bigger the better, but the backwards part almost makes me puke EVERY time. I also don't "feel quite right" afterwards for about 1/2 hour.

I'm kind of leery of the rides I "try" now because my mom talked me into riding the Hulk coaster at IOA when I was 13 (I had just conquered Space Mountain and thought I was ready for anything.) Needless to say I was scared to death and it really ruined my sense of adventure towards trying something once. I just want to know what I'm getting myself into.
Hulk is more intense than any coaster at Disney. It makes RnRC look like a kiddie ride. EE is less than half as intense as RnRC.
