This june is our first summer trip to the world, usually go off season. Epcot is my favorite park. Are evenings the best time to beat the heat at epcot, since I love walking around the world showcase and most of it is in the sun! I know they all have air contioned places inside but i still love the beauty outside!!

Heading for the great escape.
Based on our visit this August I didnt really find heat an issue at Epcot. As you have rightly said so much of it is in side that you are not in the heat for great spans of time. The other issue is that during the day most of the crowds are drawn to the attractions at the front of the park leaving world showcase relatively quite. As the day goes on it gets busier because of the dining options and people staking their spots for illuminations.

Enjoy the exteriors until you get too hot, then take a nose around the interiors until you cool down, then go back to the exteriors and repeat cycle as necessary. :)

Three words for the best way to beat the heat at Epcot...ICE STATIO COOL! This is one of my favorite things in all of WDW. There are also cool mist machines (i know one is outside the entrance to Test Track). Otherwise, Epcot does have alot of indoor attractions and shops, which will at least get you out of the sun. Even most of the que lines are shaded or indoors.

Many of the beverage stands have the frozen slushies. They will cool you down in a flash. I couldn't manage the summer months at WDW without them! There is a good one right after you exit Test Track, it looks like a little car wash. I recommend the raspberry/lemonade, the blueberry has that fake chemical-ish taste. They have a large sized slushie there for $2.50, around WS they are about $4 but have many more flavors.

I also see people carrying the parasols from China. I'm sure it makes great portable shade, but I wouldn't want to have to tote it everywhere.

Then there's always good old cold water. We're supposed to drink 8 glasses a day, more in the heat. Dehydration and heat exhaustion are a big issue at WDW.

I have also seen the special bandanas that you soak in cold water and wrap around your neck. Haven't tried those yet. They sound good in theory.

The heat around WSC is not that bad if you make sure to go inside every pavillion for a visit. You still have the beauty of the outside and the lots of interesting things inside, including the air condition! :D

There is also the most famous tour in Epcot: the "drinking around the world" tour! :drevil:
