Beast Castle Roof Patching?

The covering of lightning rod cabling is an option, but it wouldn't make sense for them to run down the front of the brand new facade. They can be easily routed down un-seen sides.

The more logical explanation is that a crack developed in that turret and they're repairing faulty workmanship.

This was my assumption, especially after seeing the cracks that developed in the "tents" around 'it's a small world'.

Too be honest, when I first saw the building material they had used for the castle's roof, I was nervous about it. No shingles, just this solid material. Don't get me wrong. I think the castle looks great, but am I the only one who expected more out of it?

Nope.

Ashamed to admit it, but for months (up until a few months ago, actually) I thought what we were seeing was just like a 'first coat' if you will, and we were going to see more detail and stuff added right before opening. Guess not. :veryconfu

Could it be that the "faded" color helps with the perspective of the castle being off in the distance?

I find that it looks crappy in zoomed in pics like the one in this thread, but it's very effective when you are actually in Fantasyland. It doesn't photograph well (at least from the presently-available perspectives).

Looks as if they've already been doing similar work to the slightly larger turret roof on the right. Working from the yellow scaffolding, they've repaired something, added the white primer coat that we see on the left turret, and covered that primer with the maroon base coat used for the trompe l'oeil roof shingle painting.

On a side note I wonder if they are going to have the ballroom light up at night on that castle model... Anyone know?

They do have the tree in Liberty Square that suggests racism...

It doesn't have to suggest racism, any troubled soul can be hanged. Especially any one of the crew that doesn't install interior lighting in a newly featured restaurant's theming!

They will light the ballroom, not doing that would be as bad as leaving a major animatronic figure broken in an attraction for years..... oh wait ;)

What? Anyone found guilty of a crime could have been hanged.

It was quite common in the Old West.

Perhaps you just missed all the old westerns showing them hanging the bad guy between the tree and the horse. One swift kick of the horse left the bad guy swinging.
