Hi Everyone!
First post. 3rd time to Disney. Stayed at Poly (pre-reno and LOVED it) and Beach Club (water view). Always used a travel agent. Booked Beach Club water view (our fave for proximity to Epcot and HS)for Sept 2017 trip. ASSUMED we'd just get the Free Dining Discount....Ugh!!!....Apparently I don't understand how this all works :(. Anyway, there were NO Beach Club rooms on the Free Dining except Club Level...or garden view at Yacht Club. This is probably our last trip as a family because daughter is 13 and son is 11 and we've gone every 3 years but she'll be in HS and we won't be able to pull her out of school then and we don't really love crowds so summer and holidays are out.

I KNOW most people aren't really in their rooms much but we LOVE the water view. Yacht club would be a room downgrade and to a place we've never been and construction is still going on at YC/Convention Center. But Club level is so expensive. We would save $1400 of we book YC and save $400 if we book BC Club level.

We get the dining plan for lunch and dinner and I get groceries delivered for breakfast/snacks and a nightly cocktail for the husband and I, so I'm wondering if it would be worth it to do club level.

Any advice????

Thanks, MotherofaPrincess!
We did price out the room discount but its actually cheaper to do BC water view on club level with Free Dining, than to keep the current BC water view room with dining plan and 15% room discount.

I'd use the Club lounge food offerings for breakfast/snacks and possibly even the nightly cocktail depending on the offerings.

If you can swing the club level I would definitely do that!

Keep checking for beach club free dining rooms other than club level. Occasionally additional inventory becomes available.

Have you thought about Boardwalk instead? I know the love and attachment to Yacht/Beach quite well myself, but Boardwalk is just as good or better in cases based on the entertainment and food options that are readily available. Plus a water/boardwalk view at night can be spectacular and you still have the quick walk to Epcot and HS.

Club level rooms are the biggest sucker bet in all of Disney. Pay hundreds of dollars more for the "benefit" of some crappy snacks. Pass.

I wouldn't pass on YC just because of reno. It should be getting closer to finishing by the time y'all go. Club level rooms are already finished, so you'd be getting a brand new room.

In 2015 we were met at the bus by a CM and she told us we were upgraded to club level. On afternoon we came back for a rest I asked for a glass of wine and the CM gave me two "because they were small." We like simple breakfast so we were fine with the food in the morning. I could have made a small meal on the food out during the afternoon but I don't know if it will work for the kids.

The hitch there is that one of the main perks of staying at the yacht and Beach clubs is access to stormalong Bay. Staying at the Boardwalk limits you to that lame clown pool. However, the perks of the Boardwalk, like the restaurants and entertainment, are open to all.

If I were you I'd strongly consider the yacht club.

Personally I'm fine with YC over BC although this past year it's been nothing but BC with a night here and there at like BWV or AKL. If you only go every 3 years and you really love BC then do the club level and get the free dining and save $400. You are basically spending and extra grand for the resort and view you want.
