Beach Club vs Yacht Club

I see so very little here in this board about these 2 resorts. Still have not decided if I will change my reservations in March from POR to Beach/Yacht Club. Can anyone who has stayed there give me an idea of a favorite room. On this trip, it will be me and my husband. We would prefer a king room with a full balcony (I understand that the BC has mostly Juliet Balconies). The view is not important.....pool, water, garden is perfect but we would prefer not to look onto a parking lot. Thanks....:cat:

Either the YC or BC will be a MASSIVE upgrade from POR. If you make the switch, you will never want to go back. Good luck with your decision!

Sorry, I can't help but I will respond with my knowledge of the EPCOT resorts. We have stayed at the Boardwalk 4X. We love it! Being able to walk to Epcot is great. Access to the back entrance is so much faster and easier than the main. Then there's DHS right around the corner. We love the live performers on the boardwalk. The kids looking forward to seeing the magic acts. I know this is across the lake for either resort you were asking about, but it's only a walk, or boat ride away.

We walked through the BC and the pool is awesome. I have eaten at the Yachtsman once, so my knowledge of the place is limited. It looked nice, but a real sand pool? How cool is that!! They got a bar out there with some good Caribbean style drinks.

DH and I stayed at BC last summer. I requested "large balcony" during online check in (it was one of the choices). We were given a king room on the 4th floor with the longest balcony I have ever seen! The room had a unique shape and was very quiet, and fairly close to the elevator. The balcony faced Epcot (though we only saw trees) but at night we could watch the fireworks from Illuminations. We loved that room!

As always, awesome answer. Did you book a woods view? Great advice!

Because I liked it better than beach club. They are both really nice and both have pros & cons. YC was just more to my liking
Cool, how long did it take, by bus, to get to MK and DAK? Thanks - both resorts look beautiful. We are looking to go at one of those two resorts next Christmas year.

I would tip the scales in favor of the BC because it is closer to Epcot, it is closer to the pool, and it has the Marketplace. I also prefer what I feel is the lighter, slightly more family-friendly vibe. Don't get me wrong, the YC is phenomenal in its own right, I just really enjoy the BC.

I love Yacht.

However, currently, their rooms are some of the oldest, worn, outdated rooms on property! Tho very clean.

Beach Club has the newest freshest rooms on property! At this time, I'd pick Beach.

I see it is an adults only trip. Yacht is much more quiet than Beach. In every way.

My family actually stayed in POR last October and I thought it was very nice. We are also returning in March and decided to try the Beach Club Resort this time. This will be our first visit to that resort as well; we are very excited! I'm a little unsure as to what room to request as far as location to EPCOT, pool, restaurants, bus stops, etc. Our favorite is the Wilderness Lodge and honestly that is where we would have ended up this time had it not been for the construction that will be going on there during that time.

Rumor has it that YC is next up for refurb.

We were just staying at BCV. We could see into the ground floor rooms that have been renovated and they looked amazing. So nice.

If you request ground floor garden view, you'll have a patio. The garden view is nice, but when people are coming in from Epcot, it may get a bit noisy, so keep that in mind. On the other hand, it's a really quick walk to Epcot.

Let us know what you decide. :)

SO....I am being so "fickle". I called today and changed my reservations to the YC, pool/ lagoon view and now I am second guessing my decision. I will sleep on it and if I feel the same way in the morning, I will call and change to the BC lagoon/pool view. I would prefer to stay in a newly renovated resort for that kind of money. :cat:

I can't give you a fave room, but if you stay at YC...I have a room you probably do not want. We had a garden view room and while I don't remember all of my requests, I remember that they put us in a far corner of the resort. It was a pretty room with a decent view for the classification (quiet pool out the back and some water out the side since it was a corner room), but we got some noise from a nearby stairwell and we were practically staying at the Dolphin. We picked YC b/c you have a much better chance of a full balcony or patio, but if you pick YC, request a room closer to the lobby or the BC side of things.
