Has anyone ever stayed at the Beach Club Villas? We are thinking about it for our upcoming trip? Can anyone give their feedback?

Beach Club Villas

We are DVC members, and our home is the Beach Club Villas. We have stayed at the Villas 3 times and we love it.
The big questions are, how close do you want to be to EPCOT? Is a great pool important?
We like to be close to the international gateway, and we like the nighttime entertainment that the boardwalk offers, and the beach club has a great pool.
We dont mind the bus transportation to the Magic Kingdom, but some people dont like to wait.
If you do stay at the BCV, dont forget to go to the Dophin and try the new restaurant "Fresh", we really liked it.

Great resort, I think one of the best Deluxe properties. Getting the the MK is not really hard...all you have to do is stroll through Epcot and get on the monorail, then on the way home, you can take the bus! But if your in a hurry, the buses are not a problem. I have never had issues.
Great pool, great location, great rooms!

The pool is absolutely fabulous. I would highly recommend staying there for just that, lol. It is a very nice resort though, you'll have a great time. And it's also fun to take those bike things over to the Boardwalk and shop and eat!

We stayed at the Beach Club, which is right next door, the first week of December. We had stayed at the Contemporary in June, but found the BC to be heads & tails above the Contemp. The atmosphere was fantastic!! It's only a 5 minute walk to the International Gateway of Epcot. The kids loved being able to go to Epcot at will, while the parents took a rest. The Boardwalk just across the lake made for easy access to a quick snack. Of course don't forget Beaches & Cream!! We are staying there again in June!!!:sohappy:

Where exactly are the Beach Club Villas are? I know the Boardwalk villas are seperated from the Inn is that how the Beach Club Villas are? Also can a one bedroom have two queen size beds instead of one king bed?

The villas are blue on the exterior, the regular rooms are green.
The one bedrooms have a king. To get the two queens, you have to get the two bedroom. But there is a fold out couch in the den of the one bedroom, so you can accomodate the kids on it. Or you can get a studio room, which has the two beds (but no kitchen).

Our room faced the cul de sac at the lobby area (so we just went out of our room and went across the road to get to the bus area). They are located at the parking lot area though. You can see them on your left as you enter the Beach Club gates. Guess your view depends on which side of the hall your room is on.

The one bedrooms have a king in the bedroom and a sleeper sofa in the main room along with a full size kicten. (2 rooms total.) they also have a large bathroom with a shower and a seperate jacuzzi tub. The studios have a kictenette (small refreg, microwave, toaster, coffe maker, and sink along with couter space and paper plates, bowls and silverware.) While we love one bedrooms (also with a washer and dryer in room) we find that a studio really does fit our needs well for a small family. If you get a 2 bedroom it is a one bedroom with an ajoining studio (they call this lock off, sometimes they have dedicaded 2 bedroom that are not lock offs, but they can be harder to get.) Studios have a full size (or queen not sure) bed along with a sleeper sofa. Only the studios in OKW have 2 queen size beds. If you look on the new planning DVD they have layout for each room.
We love the themeing at BCV, they even have blue morning glories with hidden Mickeys on the bed spread, my very favorite flowers. Most one bedrooms have 2 full size balconies also (unlike BC balconies that can be standing room only sometimes.) We like pool view instead of Epcot view, mostly woods. We just love everything about it.
Renting points from a DVC member may be the most economical way to stay there if you are not a DVC member. Warning, if you stay there and you are not a DVC member, you will want to be by time you leave. We love DVC rooms so much we don't want to stay anywere else.
