beach club tips

just passing on a few things i learned from our first trip to the Beach club:

1)garden room on the first floor is centrally located to everything you are looking to do. You don't get the balcony, but how much time are you really going to use this feature anyways.

2)the flying jib waterside is entered from outside the fenced-in entrance. You have to have your band scanned first to have entrance in the pool.
3) the sand bottom of the pool is GREAT,but be careful when getting close to the sides. There is no sand there and the gritty (non-slip) surface will scratch you up pretty bad.
4)people leave their towels in the chairs even though they might not be at the pool. I found that if you don't see other belongings there; you should try to snag one.
5)this time of year the pools are open from 9:00-11:00, which is nice use at night if you get back from the parks in time.
6)the lazy river has 7' and 8' depths, so be careful with younger ones who fall of their tube.
7)hurricane Hanna's has Blue power-ade, which the marketplace didn't have. Note: the root beer has caffeine.
8)the marketplace and cape may are located REALLY close to the front desk.
9)from the middle of the hotel it is no more than a 5 minute walk to epcot. When you go through the international entrance there is a fast pass Kiosk right to the left with very helpful CM'S who will set up any requests you need.
10)boat to HS stops at the Swan+Dolphin first and then goes direct to the park.(it takes about 10 minutes)
When the park closed for the night; most of the crowd goes to the buses, so it was nice to get on the first boat.
11) the magical express stops at the Carribean and Yacht before the beach club.
12)park buses go right to Magic kingdom and Ak; while on the return trip they only stop at the Yacht first.

Hello. Thanks for all the great tips. I have a question , not sure if you know the answer. I read somewhere in another website that the pool does not provide lifevest for the small children like every other disny hotel pool. Not sure if you noticed this and know this to be false or true. Thanks and glad to hear you had a great time.

Thanks for asking. Being my that this was my first trip there i tried to gather all the information i could. The had a rack of safety vests which were over by the lazy river. The lazy river is the middle pool between the two resorts. If you are not familiar; the first main pool (closest to the beach club) has the outlet for main water slide. you have to get out of the water to get to the lazy river. The same would be said also if you want to go to the third pool; which is a kiddie area(closest to yacht club) where kids play with the sand and cool off. (VERY shallow).

Thanks for the info! While I am not staying there on our upcoming Nov trip, my parents are booked there for the first time so I want to show them any helpful info that is out there about the resort. One night after dinner, me, my sister and her husband are planning on going there to check everything out and see their room. I have only ever been to BC for Cape May Cafe and that was years ago. I really love the location of this resort! So do all of the first floor rooms not have balconies? I never knew that some didn't.

The first floor rooms don't have the balconies, but we had rooms 1588 +1590 (garden view) The rooms connected with 1 room having double beds and the other having a king-size bed. We had a nice patio with chairs which was fine since i don't think i would of used the balcony anyways. We were right around the corner from the marketplace and front desk, but never noticed a lot of noise. The housekeeping was great and the rooms were in better shape than the nice ones we had at POR.

Balcony/Patio is nice if you're an early riser. Sometimes it's nice to just crack open the paper, have a cup of coffee and just have some peace & quiet.

Don't forget there is a quiet pool with a hot tub that is available instead of Stormalong Bay. It's not big but can be nice for a late night or swim or when you just want to be away from the crowds.

A would mention there are bench swings on the beach looking over toward the Boardwalk great for nice rest around sunset.
Depending on your arrival time you may be the 4th stop with Magical Express, we got in around 10:00 and stopped at Carribean, Boardwalk and Yacht before BC. Not sure why the driver turned right exiting out of Boardwalk back to the main road then to Yacht instead of making a left and drive around the resort road to BC but he did.
You can walk to HS, about 20 minutes
You can rent a car at the Dolphin hotel

We just got back from the Beach Club and LOVED it!!! It was such a quick walk to Epcot. Definitely take the boat to HS - don't walk it!!! Even when the concierge tells you that you can walk it, just know it is a really far walk (especially pushing a stroller!!!)

Pool was amazing and I can't say enough about the lifeguards and how seriously they took their jobs! I felt very comfortable with my little ones in the water and there were plenty of life jackets available for use by anyone at the pool.

Also, very pleased with the kids club. Great experience there and my daughters had a great time there while we had a date night at Epcot!

Is the DVC area of the Beach Club a different section of the hotel from the normal section of the hotel? And if so, what would the best area of the dvc section be if you were to request.

Yes, the villas are separate from the Beach Club, and we stayed at the Beach Club. I think your location preference would depend on whether you wanted to be closer to the Beach Club side to get to Stormalong Bay or closer to the exit that will get you to Epcot sooner!

One of the only Disney Pools left that still has a deep end. And I love it!

I use the balcony all the time, in the mornings and late nights especially. Keep in mind at BC, many rooms offer a standing only balcony. Very stinky, especially when they cost the same as a full size balcony.
