:veryconfu Hello... we have a reservation for a waterview room at the Beach Club and requested a king bed. Just wondering if there any BC experts out there who can offer any suggestions as to what might be a nice room/location? Is asking for a king bed on a floor with a full size balcony a ridiculous request? ANY info is welcome, thanks!!!

Beach Club Rooms?

I am also wondering the same thing. We have a trip booked in January and we are new DVC members. We will be staying in the Beach Club Villas - but I was wondering more about the B.C. in general? It's beautiful from the outside but I have never been in it before.

waterview doesn't always mean view of the lake...it could be a view of the pool....

We stayed at Yacht Club a few years ago and also requested a King bed. The thing to watch out for with that request is that they have rooms (at least they did at the Yacht club) that have king beds, but they are Murphy beds, not real beds. Plus, the rooms with the Murphy beds seemed a little smaller. They put us in a Murphy room originally, and we bitched that if I'm paying deluxe prices, I should get a decent sized room with a real bed. They moved us, so all was good in the end.
In general, rooms with king beds seem to be a rarity at WDW. Since it so family focused, most rooms are two queens or a queen and two bunkbeds. At some resorts, Port Orleans comes to mind, I don't think they even have any rooms with king beds. The deluxe resorts usuually have a few king rooms and Wilderness Lodge seems to have king rooms in adundance.

YC&BC faq here ya go!!! You are going to love DVC, my parents have owned since 1995!!! I have stayed at both YC and BC. I like YC better but that is just personal taste, though I have seen the interiors at BCV and I like it a lot better than the hotel rooms. The complex is very close to Epcot, and the pool is awesome. I love the atmosphere at the resort. Have a great trip!!!!

We also requested King bed (my husband is very tall). We originally were going to stay at a moderate resort but found they wouldn't put us and our 2 small children in a King room (something about fire regulations) even though we all sleep together. The cast member said she would put in our reservation that my husband was very tall but we arn't going until Sept. (Beach Club). And yes, we will "b--ch" if we have upgraded to a Deluxe resort and don't get a King bed. So good luck to you and hopefully us!

i'm pretty sure i've been in both Yacht and Beach club, and the interiors are ABOUT the same....really, really nice, but VERY fancy....i tend to think of the Howell's from Gilligan's Isle when i think of the two resorts...if that helps any!
i've seen a picture of the inside of one of the rooms and it looked so nice (it reminded me somewhat of Boardwalk Villas rooms, which is why i instently fell in love with the picture)! i too will be staying at the BC Villas (this Thanksgiving)...i can't wait!!
