Thanks. We're getting ready to book a room at the boardwalk but I was under the impression that you could for some reason. I dont think there is a big difference price wise for the two hotels. I hope!

I think it was briefly allowed during the last refurb of the Boardwalk pool, but unless you deliberately book during the next refurb, no.

Yes, it was allowed. We were at Boardwalk during that refurb and they were allowing people to use Stormalong Bay. They were even offering golf cart service to get you there! We didn't have time to take advantage, but we're going next weekend just for a getaway and I sprung the extra points per night on my DVC to stay at the Beach Club just so I can finally say I was able to go in Stormalong Bay!

And they do have cast members at all possible entrances to the pool area checking those ID's...we did walk thru just to peek and I saw the pool lockdown situation...they ain't messin' around with that one!

I was so underwhelmed by Stormalong Bay. Then again, I"m from New England and I hate the beach. I have no desire to swim in a pool with sand on the bottom. I'll take the pool at Wilderness Lodge any day.

All it is is a windy pool with sand covering most of the bottom.

The HUGE draw for me is that Stormalong Bay has DEEP end, water well over my head , and I'm 6'4. Most Disney pools lack anything over 5 foot, so a deep end over ten foot is great! Love Stormalong Bay for that reason alone.

That's an excellent point. I did like that aspect.

Even worse than the Disney pools are the pools at Universal. They're about 3 feet deep. You literally can't swim in them.

I also remember seeing people with wristbands at Stormalong Bay last time I looked, not sure if that's still done or not.

Boardwalk's Luna Pool is actually my favorite pool. It's big & well themed, and I've never found it to be overly crowded. There's a nice pool bar too.

Either way, I don't think there's too much of a different in resort prices. I'm staying at BC this trip, and stayed at the Boardwalk 2 years ago. I feel like we're paying a similar amount.
