Anyone have any pictures, reveiws etc.. was interested in staying here the next trip to Disney. Have stayed at values and moderates before but not at Deluxe before other than the easy access to Epcot and MGM what other disfferences are there?

Yacht & Beach have great access to Epcot and MGM. You can walk to either park. It took us about 10 minutes to walk to Epcot from the Yacht Club in April of this year. We decided to walk from MGM back to the Yacht Club and it took us 22 minutes. There were just 2 of us and we walked at a leisurely pace. (Brother set his stop watch). I don't think I would make the walk during July or August just because of the humidity factor but that is my personal preference.

As far as resort itself, I was unimpressed with the Yacht Club overall. There is only 1 bank of elevators and the walk from the elevator to our room was ridiculous, down a long hallway, turn then down another long hallway. The room was nice, 2 queens and a day bed. The Yacht Club Galley Restaurant has great Eggs Benedict.

I was told by a co-worker that the Beach Club has 2 elevator banks, 1 at either end of the resort. This would have ranked the Yacht Club higher in my opinion. A public stairway would have been nice too since we were on the third floor and stairs are not a problem for us.

I may be spoiled as far as deluxe resort go, we usually stay at the Contemporary or the Poly. We have stayed at all the Moderates and enjoy them too.

The best thing about the Yacht/Beach Club is definitely the location.

Yacht & Beach Club really are tops in theming and amenities. It's an easy walk to Epcot from both resorts, but the Beach Club is closer. It's a longer walk to MGM but still manageable. However, if you don't feel like walking, you can take a boat to both parks.

Y&B have arguably the best pool on property. Stormalong Bay is really a mini waterpark. They have a "lazy river" complete with inner tubes, a sandbottomed shallow pool and an active pool. There is also a huge waterslide set in a shipwreck.

Also, IMO, Y&B have some of the best restaurants on property. Beach has Cape May Cafe, which has a great character breakfast every morning and a fun clam bake every night. Even if you don't like seafood, they have landlubber food and a great dessert bar. Over at the Yacht, there's Yacht Club Galley, which has a great breakfast without the characters and is a great spot for a casual but delicious lunch or dinner. And of course there's Yachtsman Steakhouse, which is a real treat. It's my favorite restaurant on property or off. In between the two hotels is Beaches n Cream, which serves fabulous ice cream and diner-type food. And if you feel like getting out, the Boardwalk and its restaurants and entertainment are a quick walk or boat ride away.

Y&B are smaller resorts. They only have about 300 rooms each, if I remember correctly. They are very popular and tend to sell out very fast. I prefer the Beach over the Yacht because of its more relaxed feel, but they're both great.

If you are traveling w/kids or enjoy swimming, the pool is great. You could spend a whole day just playing in the pools, hot tubs, on the slides and "river" that connects all of them. They are all sand bottom and my kids loved playing in the sand. We really enjoyed it.

I love Love LOVE the Beach Club. It's very cutely, nicely themed & pretty laid back. I took my grandmother, who's almost 80 (sorry Grams! :animwink: ), 2 yrs ago, and she was at Stormalong Bay every evening! When I went last year with friends, we had adjoining rooms on (I think) the second floor right near the stairs. This worked great, since the stairs came out not far from the WS gateway & made it even easier to get there! I'm staying there again in June--there are some lovely (if very quick) shots on the Disney vacation planning DVD (under Special Features), and when the people I'm taking saw it they fell it love!! :sohappy:

It's easily my favorite resort on property. Hope you have a great time!

Yacht Club is our favorite Disney Resort, last four vacations were there and our fifth is planned for here. The rooms are large and have good storage areas and the CMs have been extremely friendly and helpful. Location and its services are nice too.

Nansafan--they do only have one main bank of elevators, but there are single elevators at the end of each wing area, I'm surprised you missed them.
