Maybe I am missing something, but is BOG a Quick-Serve or Table Service restaurant? I keep seeing references to getting a FP+ for lunch, but nothing about dinner. On Disney site, both service types are mentioned, but under "entitlements" for the Dining Plan, it doesn't distinguish which 1 "credit" I would be using for a meal there. Can someone please explain? THANKS!

QS for lunch, TS for dinner. Dinner reservations are extremely hard to come by, and can be booked online or by phone. Completely separate from lunch.

For lunch, you have to be 'invited' by email to essentially sign up for a FP+ a few weeks out from your arrival date to eat there for lunch. If you're staying off site or didn't get an invite, you can try to go to the restaurant and secure a 'paper ticket' to return at a later time that day.

We are staying onsite. Trip is mid-May, so we aren't 180 days out yet, hence why I am trying to get my ducks in a row... So, I cannot book a FP+ on my own, need an invite? How might we get on the invitation list?

We are a party of 6, including a 1 yr old. Should I try to make a ADR for 6 or split 4/2, 3/3? I would rather the QS lunch, but if we cannot get a FP+, I will try to book dinner. DD loves Belle so I'd really like to make this work (like 1K other people, I realize).

Any ideas welcome!

Just be aware that Belle is NOT at Be Our Guest. Beast is the host at the restaurant. I believe Belle is still at Akershus in EPCOT. Just in case you were trying to book BOG assuming that Belle would be there.

Yes, aware of not meeting Belle. But, thank you! DD is enamored with all things from both Little Mermaid and Beauty & the Beast- so getting to eat in "the castle" will simply make her day. Hoping for the best!

It's supposedly random and I'm not aware of anything special you can do to increase your chances of getting one. I believe most people do if staying at at a Disney resort so I wouldn't worry too much. We got one and then we also tried our chances with the standby on another day and that worked just as advertised too.

The dinner reservations will be long gone by the time you're allowed to make reservations for lunch. My advice if you really want to eat there is to try and get dinner reservations at your 180 day point. If you don't get them, you won't. They are gone within hours of opening reservations. If you are at day 179...gone. Some may open here and there but not guaranteed. If you can't get a dinner, then use the Fast Pass lunch option as your standby.

You don't need an invitation for lunch, you can go to this site for a FP: beourguestlunch.disney.go.com. (At least it worked that way for my April vacation). You need the reservation number that only includes numbers (I used the one with the magicbands reservation). I don't think you can book a long time in advance, I think it's something like 30-60 days before your arrival date. Good luck!

For most people the window for be our guest fastpass for lunch opens up at 27 days before your trip and it will open one day at a time. The twelve digit number can be found on your magic express tags if you are doing the magic express. As mentioned before for any shot at BOG dinner you need to be online at 6:00 am Eastern time at exactly day 180 to have any chance of getting it.

Thanks to all for the great information. It still really boggles my mind that SO many people can schedule their meals 6 months out. I am trying to arrange our ADRs based on what park we are in and what the plan is for the day (trying to schedule nap time, pool time, etc). Its fun & exciting - but so stressful!!! My husband keeps saying that we need to relax and just enjoy ourselves.... maybe once everything is scheduled, I will try to relax.

Thanks again everyone.

As much as people say that they can't understand the pre-planning involved for WDW -- that they like to 'wing it' and just take things as they come. Once they get to WDW they find that they are limited to counter-service and long wait lines/times. Fortunately my family, and extended family, plans ahead. You need not get frazzled with your preplanning. It will pay off in the end. Sometimes an early rise in the AM to make reservations does make sense. Go for it. Your will have a great time...and your husband will really appreciate your efforts.

We booked dinner at bog in high season in march (29th). While we did book at 180 days, there was no need to get up at 6am. Mid day we booked and found plenty of reservations. But remember 180 days means different things to different people. Depending on how long you are staying, it could be up to 180+10 days.

I'll add that if we get a lunch FP+ we'll cancel our dinner ADR. We have wishes dessert party reservations and don't want to be full then, so lunch would be preferable. So there are and will be openings along the way.

I tried the beourguest link from above and "No fastpasses available" for any of our days. I will keep trying...

However, please explain the "180+10 days". ?? We are staying 7 nights, 8 days.

It's not really that hard. I find that it actually falls into a nice and easy sequence.

I've always carefully planned which parks that I want to be in on which days. That generally means that we choose the parks that are less crowded each day. We actually tweak our vacation days to allow visits to MK on the first and last days of our vacation on days that it is less busy.

Once we know which parks, we will be in on each day, we can schedule our ADRs (at 180+ days).

At 60 days, we can schedule our FP+s. We know what rides that we like and that tend to have long lines. We also know what times we generally like to get up and make it to the parks and we know our ADR times, so FP+s are simple enough to schedule.

I agree with this! It's nice going in knowing what days you'll be at which park, andgoing through all the restaurants to see what looks the most fun/interesting/tasty! Then we anticipate it for days, imagining what we'll be chowing down on in a few weeks. Planning is part of the fun!

On the 180th day prior to your arrival, you can make your ADRs for up to the first ten days of your vacation.

So for someone like the OP, if they book their ADRS at 180 days, the last few days have very little competition. On the other hand many people have already been able to book for the first few days. When we go in march, we are technically staying for 6 days but the first three are a conference. So for the last three, the ADR's were pretty wide open.

The above link to the Be Our Guest lunch website will only let you make lunch reservations 27 days out from the day you want to eat there.

Yesterday, I got an email invitation to participate BOG FP+ lunch and was able to secure a time slot at around 6 pm eastern time. The day I picked (Saturday) was 26 days out. Before I found out about the 27 day window, I had tried a day that was 30 days out. No availability for that day..a Wednesday. I was asked to put in my onsite resort reservation number when I logged in to the site but based on what I'm reading here, I don't know if that was necessary.

The reservation does not show up in the regular MDE app/website.

My thinking is that if I got a reservation on a Saturday on the day after reservations were allowed that it might not be a "6 am on the day ressies open" kind of thing. My day was available for 36 hours when I booked. The time slot pickings were slim by then, however. Only 2 time slots available for a party of 2.
