Be our guest lunch -- really on through email invite?

I have been checking the special disney sight for be our guest lunch res.this is for January 3-7 dates. Nothing is open for any date . Is it true that that you can only get a fast pass through an email invite? If so does the email give you a different link to go to or does the fast pass selection provide options only once you are sent an email. I feel like I am wasting my time looking every day and seeing no FP times available

Love a little Disney every day!! ;)
And you do not need the email to do it either. I have never waited on the email because I usually do not get it until well After my 27th day mark anyway. :)

I never got an e-mail at all despite our having an on-site reservation, but roughly 20 days out from my trip, the BOG FP+s for the month I was traveling were "released." (I found this out from a member here, who posted the info. in our trip club thread. She and others, including myself, had been checking the BOG lunch site every day to see if we could make FP+ for our dates. Once she was able to, she alerted the rest of us.) I was able to get on the BOG lunch site and make a FP+ at just the perfect date and time.

(A tip on using the BOG lunch FP+ site, once your dates are "released": it will give you 3 possible time options for the date you choose. Go ahead and reserve one as a placeholder, but if you don't like any of the times you're offered, simply go back, say you want to change the time of your reservation, and keep hitting "refresh" until you're offered a time you like -- the 3 times you're offered will keep changing with every refresh of the page.)

I believe you are only offered two arrival times. At least that has been my experience of the half dozen times we have had a BOG fastpass.

But you are correct in that a refresh might offer other time options.

I recently tried to get a fast pass for Be Our Guest lunch online. I am currently 60 days out from vacation at WDW. The Be Our Guest site requires a 12 digit reservation ID (numbers only). I have an 8 digit package ID (numbers and letters). I called WDW to get a 12 digit reservation. They stated that they don't give out the reservation ID but I would receive an e-mail within 30 days of my vacation.

You spoke to a lazy cast member. You can get your reservation number. If you had booked your vacation online, you would have received the 12 digit number so it is in the system.

But the cast member is correct in that the number will be in the BOG email...assuming you actually get the invite, many guests don't.

If you are less than 30 days out and have not received the invite, CALL BACK and request your 12 digit number.

Tuvalu, Thank you for your advise. I will try, again, in 30 days if I don't receive the email.

As a season pass holder, the idea that Hotel Guests get another advantage over the rest of the guests is really disappointing. First it was impossible to get Dinner reservations, then Fast Passes for the rides with the longest lines and now Exclusive Lunch Reservation at Be Our Guest. And to top it off, Hotel Guests have self service Kiosks while everyone else must wait for someone to enter our order while coughing in their arm and sniffling. Just another case of Disney favoring Hotel Guest over pass holders and everyone else.

Look at it this way - If Disney want people to continue to stay in their (overpriced) Resorts then there has to be some kind of perk. If I could get the same level of accommodation at a cheaper price with no other benefits, then I would be far less likely to stay on property. It does make sense from a business point of view. I do think, however, that the same plusses should be available to AP holders but TDO still haven't asked for my opinion. :joyfull:

I know lots of people that stay offsite or are passholders only and have NO PROBLEMS like your mentioning. They get their wanted hard to get dinner reservations and fast passes (pass holders) etc just like us onsite guests. So don't know why you seem to have issues as a passholder. :)

I was just able to make reservations at BOG for Feb 20! That was the furthest out date that was open as of right now. I was just wondering will this reservation show up on the itinerary on the Disney app?

Also I never got an email invite, I just found the 12 digit code on the paperwork from our TA. I entered it about 10 days or so ago and just kept checking every day to see if dates were open.

It will not. Take a screen shot of it to be safe.

I guess as hotel guest we are paying more than someone who purchases an annual pass for $634 and is able to visit as many times as they wanted to during the year. For our 6 days of passes is was $350+ per person and that is only for 6 days!! With the resort and dining plan and airfare we were just about $5000 for 6 days!!!. We paid plenty to deserve a small perk of by passing a line for lunch. I guess if you really want to eat there then you make dinner reservations and know that you don't have to wait in the long line.

If you are talking about the BOG food ordering kiosks, the only reason you can't use those is if you are paying cash. Then you would have to go to a cashier. The cashiers are also used for those on the DDP and using credit cards when the kioks are getting backed up. They often are backed up and they are part of the line problem at BOG because guests simply can't figure them out, spending crazy amounts of time placing their order. I've asked to be moved to another when behind guests who clearly should be able to do the simple steps but seem lost.

I am also an AP holder and have used the kiosks and paid with my credit card. I have also been a WDW guest and sent to the cashier when the kiosks were backed up. But I do agree having to go to a cashier takes some of the fun out of it.
