Hi All,

This far, I've managed to snag a BOG resrevation for lunch, but would really like dinner. Has anyone done lunch at BOG? Was it worth it, or is dinner that much better? I've been there for dinner only, so I have no basis for comparison.

Thank you!

Love a little Disney every day!! ;)
Lunch is a quick service and no Beast. Yes it's worth it to us being it's pretty good and better than some for a quick service. Look at the menu and see if it appeals to you. We enjoy lunch and dinner and do each every trip usually. ;)

Thanks. What would you recommend from the lunch menu? My godson will eat just about anything, so I'm not worried about him.

Lunch is my favorite meal at BOG. Even though it's QS, it feels a notch above all QS in my opinion. We religiously get the Tuna Salad and the Carved Beef Sandwich. Get both of the soups if you can...they're both so good it hurts my feelings that I can't pick a favorite.

We've had good and okay dinners there. If you mainly want to take in the restaurant atmosphere, I think lunch will suit your needs just fine. You're not missing too much food-wise at dinner.

Last year was the first time I was able to get BOG and we did both lunch and dinner on two separate days. While dinner definately wasn't bad, I feel for the hassle of trying to grab a reservation for my large family (10), its wasn't memorable enough for the struggle. Now lunch, I thought it was excellent when compared to the other quick service options. Loved ordering ahead. I actually like doing our own drink refills. You never have a bad unattentive server that way! We had many of the menu items due to a large party and everyone liked what they got. I personally had the turkey sandwich and it was very good. This year I am considering trying something else but would hate not to get the turkey because I really liked it. I like that you can get the same desserts that come with dinner also (with the exception of the grey stuff but although the grey stuff itself is good the shell thing it came in was not...it was dry and pretty tasteless. A better option for grey stuff is the master's cupcake). My personal favorite dessert there is the chocolate creme puff. I tend to like pastry type items more than cupcakes, though. For lunch we all paired up and split our dessert choices so we could try more...plus, as Mom I got to sample a couple of the kids other items as well. Although desserts are not included with quick service anymore, We surely will be using snack credits on them at lunch this year. Nothing was overly sweet...they all were good.

It is a bummer you don't meet beast at lunch. Although we had a bad experience with our meet with him after dinner last year, Its always nice to have the photos. Last year it was really a must do to get the photos because my 3 year old was totally obsessed with Beast and convinced she had to meet him and also all the children dressed as various characters from Beauty and the Beast so I wanted a photo with Beast and them.

Another plus with lunch is you can pick where ever you want to eat. The kids really wanted to eat in the West Wing and it worked out perfectly that there were enough clear tables for us when we got there which is probably rare as its a tiny room with mostly small tables.

There are just so many table services I love or really want to try plus the scramble to get a table and having to take and undesirable time because its the only thing available at 180+10 that I choose to pass on dinner, at least this year.

Thanks!! Really helpful info!

We love the Croque Monsieur, Roast beef sandwich, and the braised pork dish. All really at lunch is good. You can't really go wrong. ;)
We hated the croque monsieur as it is nothing at all like the real thing. On two different occasions someone had it and neither of us liked it. So if you are used to real croque-monsieurs avoid this.

To me the kids meals were super bland (all the ones we tried) so I just share an adult meal with kids.

I have it for tomorrow but mostly only because I find the food (other than Skippers Canteen and Plaza) to be lacking at MK.

Yes true it's not authentic to a true French gem, I agree.
It's still a good warm ham and melted cheese sandwich regardless if it's like the real thing. Lol I mean it's quick service not fine dining at lunch. And most people probably have not had the real thing so won't have high expectations for it to be like it. I still can enjoy it for what it is a good warm ham and cheese sandwich, whether it's like an authentic one or not. I did not go in expecting it to be so.
Sorry y'all did not enjoy it. We do so keep going back and I'll leave the higher expectations for our table service reservations. It is good for what it is. ;)

I guess our idea of good differs. My dad who really doesn't complain about food (world traveler who has eaten all types of cuisines) didn't think it was good. The meat was dry and yet fatty for me - not a good combo. My dad said the same of his a year later. Mine wasn't even that warm. So nope not even good for what it was IMO. The baguette sandwiches were good enough though. Les Halles in Epcot does a decent croque monsieur for those wanting one. I prefer my French bakery at home, but theirs is not bad.

I actually do not have high standards for food at Disney at all. This was just below it for most of what we had. We go tomorrow and hope for once our food choices will load. So far we have always had to reorder our meal which adds way too much time IMO. This time we booked on th early side just in case.

We spend less and less time at MK and this is a filler since with my son and I splitting a meal it's about the same as QS. QS options at MK leave me cold. At least the cupcakes are good (particularly the lemon).

We too travel a lot and enjoy fine cuisine and also down to local dives wherever we go since we are foodies. Food is a very important part of our trips and we try not to waste time on mediocre food. Never said y'all did not get out there and travel and know good food too. For example Some love Narcoosees and we can't stand it. Lol It's the only signature restaurant at WDW we don't enjoy and don't go back to often.
So we also know good food and still can enjoy BOG for what it is. My sandwich is always warm and has never been fatty at all and have eaten it 5+ times now. Not saying y'all are mistaken at all, but I just have not experienced that yet at BOG. Sorry that has been the case when you have went. That is always disappinting. ;)

We had a lunch and dinner reservation on our last trip and both were good. I preferred my food at dinner and meeting the Beast was a big plus, but lunch was pretty good.

Since it's a QS, it's worth the cost. My turkey sandwich was delicious and you can't go wrong with a cupcake for lunch ;)
