Bay Lake Tower - in room wifi?

Hmmm, that's weird. We were there on Labor Day and had to use a HSIA cable, just like we do at all the WDW resorts. I think it's a typo - they do have wi-fi at the Contemporary's Convention Center, but as far as we could tell, not in the villas or studios.

$20 and a free usb port on your latpop can take care of the problem.

Hope this helps.
Yeah sadly, there's only TWO usb ports on the thing and one is used for the mouse. USB ports are a sad lack on the thing. The rest of the time we're juggling card reader, ipod, etc. It's old though and I got it free so no huge complaints.

Heading out tomorrow am so just see how it goes. Thanks!

DVC rooms have free Internet access (using a cable) if you're a DVC member staying there on points. Maybe BLT also offers wireless access for a fee? You could call the front desk of the Contemporary and ask.

I used a wireless router to set up my own wi-fi hot spot in our room last summer and it worked great. It took up very little space in my carry-on bag, too.

Just to follow up and answer my own question, the info on the desk in-room only discussed the wired internet access that you find in all the resorts. The laptop did see two weak wireless signals but both were secured and you could not connect to them. (Plus they were very weak and clearly not meant for in-room use.)

So the website's info is incorrect. In-room internet is wired.

I just stayed at BLT. It is wired only, no wireless. It is $9.95 per day, or free if you're staying on, or renting points. The hotel provides an ethernet cable for you.

Something interesting I discovered, and I don't know if it was a glitch at the Pop Century...but I was able to extend my internet usage beyond the 24-hours by simply not logging off my computer. I had 5 days of service for only the cost of 2 days. Obviously the danger is that by leaving it on Mousekeeping can potentially rummage through your computer or something (highly unlikely though). The one day I did that I put the privacy tag on my door. Since I don't care if the bed is made (being alone) I was surprised they left a bag of fresh towels, soap and shampoo.

I don't know if it would have worked if I logged-off the computer (but leaving it on, but it definitely broke the connection when I powered down. I thought it was a peculiar glitch...I don't recall being able to access the internet once the time ran out. Anyone else have that experience?
