I always enjoy hearing about others trips I thought it was time I do my share so here is my first trip report. Hope you enjoy!
In August 2013 we confirmed a timeshare exchange for a 1 bedroom, lakeview room at Bay Lake Tower for February 23-March 2, 2014. So excited as BLT was our number one choice of where we wanted to stay. Once that was confirmed all the planning began, which I will skip, and get to the trip, and photos (we took 2985 photos during the week).
We decided to do a more relaxing trip this time and only go to the parks a couple days. We always plan to do all the "other Disney stuff" but never get around to it. This trip we planned on doing lots of things we never had done before.
Here "we" are at the airport, I wear my ears the whole way down! Pack them in the suitcase on the way home as it is too sad.
Sunday Feb 23 we flew from Northeast Ohio to Orlando. What a great winter to do a Disney vacation in late February! We took the first flight out of town and landed in Orlando by 9:15am! We let Mickey do all the driving, for the first time didn't rent a car and wasn't sure how it was going to work out. (Ended up working out very well!)
It didn't take long and we were on our way! This was our bus driver's first day on his own and you could tell he was nervous and drove a bit slow. We got a "cruise" bus so our video was all cruise related.
The monorail! We stopped at the Poly and Wilderness Lodge before our stop, the Contemporary!
We knew we were there way before check in, it was before noon. We figured we would drop our stuff at Bell Services but first went to the desk at the Contemporary to check in and let them know we were there. The young lady at the desk took the time to call and see if they could find us a room that was ready, and we got lucky, they had one, so off to the room we went! Room 8411, 14th floor (of 16 floors!) I wanted a high floor so I was happy and of course a bit disappointed as I knew the odd numbered rooms had no chance of seeing the Kingdom, oh well, it is a Lakeview room.
Getting off the elevator we were treated to quite the view.....
Elevator doors, I see Mickey!
After taking in the view for a couple minutes we were off to see what our room had in store for us....more tomorrow, tired from first day back at work!
