Trip Report Bay Lake Tower...Feb 2014...1 week, 2 park days, More Photos than Words....Done, Finally!

I always enjoy hearing about others trips I thought it was time I do my share so here is my first trip report. Hope you enjoy!

In August 2013 we confirmed a timeshare exchange for a 1 bedroom, lakeview room at Bay Lake Tower for February 23-March 2, 2014. So excited as BLT was our number one choice of where we wanted to stay. Once that was confirmed all the planning began, which I will skip, and get to the trip, and photos (we took 2985 photos during the week).

We decided to do a more relaxing trip this time and only go to the parks a couple days. We always plan to do all the "other Disney stuff" but never get around to it. This trip we planned on doing lots of things we never had done before.

DSCN2393.JPG Here "we" are at the airport, I wear my ears the whole way down! Pack them in the suitcase on the way home as it is too sad.

Sunday Feb 23 we flew from Northeast Ohio to Orlando. What a great winter to do a Disney vacation in late February! We took the first flight out of town and landed in Orlando by 9:15am! We let Mickey do all the driving, for the first time didn't rent a car and wasn't sure how it was going to work out. (Ended up working out very well!)

It didn't take long and we were on our way! This was our bus driver's first day on his own and you could tell he was nervous and drove a bit slow. We got a "cruise" bus so our video was all cruise related.

The monorail! We stopped at the Poly and Wilderness Lodge before our stop, the Contemporary!

We knew we were there way before check in, it was before noon. We figured we would drop our stuff at Bell Services but first went to the desk at the Contemporary to check in and let them know we were there. The young lady at the desk took the time to call and see if they could find us a room that was ready, and we got lucky, they had one, so off to the room we went! Room 8411, 14th floor (of 16 floors!) I wanted a high floor so I was happy and of course a bit disappointed as I knew the odd numbered rooms had no chance of seeing the Kingdom, oh well, it is a Lakeview room.

Getting off the elevator we were treated to quite the view.....

Elevator doors, I see Mickey!

After taking in the view for a couple minutes we were off to see what our room had in store for us....more tomorrow, tired from first day back at work!

Isn't that view from BLT elevator lobby just amazing? It's breathtaking, each and every time, and it never gets old. I was at BLT about 2 weeks before you!

Can't wait for more report and pictures!

We loved BLT, it is a view you just take note of every time you pass it. I didn't realize just how much we would love being in walking distance to the Magic Kingdom especially since we were only going to it one day. The convenience was amazing. Especially since the monorails were down during the day, we could just walk to the MK and get a bus to anywhere or take one back to the MK and walk to BLT from there, very convenient.

After a quick snack at the pool bar we headed over to the campground by boar as we had always wanted to see it. Relaxing, quiet nice spots....we might have to pull the camper down there sometime.

Ooohh...a BLT one bedroom!! I've only ever stayed in studios there, so I'm excited to see those pics.

Great perspective on the waterside photos, both in Bay Lake and Crescent Lake--love The Boardwalk!

Awesome pictures!

Btw, you're not a weirdo for photographing trash cans.... The artwork on some of them are cool like the ones at Poly and Hollywood Studios.

Where are the pictures of getting to the campground by boar- that would be interesting!! :)
I love all the pictures though, keep them coming. BLT is one of my favorites, and I have an obsession with trash cans too.

It is a Magical Boar as it swims! ;-) I knew others would understand the trash cans!

Picked up some dessert at the Boardwalk Bakery and headed back to our room.

Since we had gotten a text that our groceries were delivered by Garden Grocers we stopped at Bell Services and gave them our room number. They were delivered to our room all we had to do is unpack them. I will certainly use Garden Grocers again!

Hmmm, having issues uploading some pix, maybe they're too big?

In the morning I still couldn't believe that we could see Spaceship Earth! We could also see the the Characters in Flight Balloon at Downtown Disney!

Sometimes sitting on the balcony watching everyone else sure gave me the feeling of Alfred Hitchcock's, ally when it was dark out, so many windows without curtains pulled!
