My home base is AKV so I can't reserve until may for oct. I was just wanting to look and see how much it would cost a non dvc member to stay there. No rooms available in bay lake tower....at all. All of them gone! Is this correct? If you can't even book a year in advance there is no way my family will ever stay there, since we have to wait until 6 months prior. Is it really that popular??

I'll check for you as soon as the site is back up. I can only look through 9/20 for the 11 month mark. BLT is pretty popular, but BLT owners may also book at 11 months with the intent to trade in for somewhere else at 7 months so inventory can still open up at 7 months.

Could be the reason, I was looking at the end of sept and oct. Maybe to far in advance? Can a non dvc member reserve a villa that far in advance?

I think so, but there probably aren't a lot of cash rooms available yet at a year out. If I trade my points in for a Disney cruise or something non-DVC that frees up another room for a cash reservation. As more BLT owners trade in for non-DVC rooms the more cash rooms will be available at BLT. Site is still down.

That's a good question. If Disney owns some BLT points or someone trades their BLT points in for a cruise, shouldn't the points be treated as everyone's else's points? Thus, DVC villas shouldn't be available for reservations more than 11 months out, even for cash.

If Disney owns BLT points or they acquire some via trade in the equivalent rooms are set aside as cash rooms. They cannot be returned to DVC inventory. It is possible to have cash rooms available but have no DVC rooms available for points. Cash rooms could in theory be available before the 11 month window.

Doesn't really matter. If Disney is entitled to certain accommodations, whether they grab those rooms at 15 months, 12 months or exactly 11 months, the net impact is the same.

I finally got in to the DVC member site. For the first 20 days of September BLT is available every day for both a studio and a 1BR all views.
