Is it possible that Tony Baxter just coincidentally used the words "great and powerful" when speaking about Star Wars, not realizing that it was also in the Oz title (perhaps the words were floating around in his subconscious)? Seems weird to me that he would answer a Star Wars question with an Oz reference when the two have nothing to do with each other. Jedis were great and powerful too you know...

No, it's not possible. Tony has been working an Oz land expansion since the movie was greenlit - he knew exactly what he was saying.

I do agree that it's a strange answer to that question. Either the question asked was phrased differently that presented on twitter, or he was waiting to shoehorn that phrase wherever it was marginally relevant.
