We are going to WDW in May and we are taking someone with us that is not an AP. We are trying to find out how much a base ticket is with an AP discount. This is probably in another thread but I could not find it so if it is double posted my apologies.

AP holders do not get a discount on theme park tickets. You can get a discount of $4 for people over 10 and $3 for people under 10 on up to 3 tickets to PI, DQ, BB, TL. AP holders also get a discount on tickets to Special events (i.e. MVMCP, NOJ, MNSSHP).

There is no discount on these tickets for AP. You also want to keep in mind that your ticket allows you to park hop and if they get a base ticket your stuck in 1 park all day & night....

You can pre-purchase a ticket in any disney store which will give you a small discount, rather than buying it at the park when you get there. There is no AP discount given to buy regular park tickets, only as stated for the Water Parks, MNSSHP, MVMCP, P&P, Mini-Golf, etc.

Actually, they got rid of the pre-purchase discount last Fall (whether purchased at the Disney Store or direct from WDW before your trip). Now the price that you pay at the Disney Store is the same price as at the gate.

I wonder if this will change back when Disney completes their takeover of The Disney Stores?

I don't see it changing. The price at the Disney Stores has always been the same price as if you picked up the phone and called WDW to order your tickets. Before the pre-purchase discount, during it, and then after they got rid of it, the prices at Disney Stores and WDW were always exactly the same. It wasn't a policy brought about by the sale of TDS to Children's Place.
