Hi,

Im going to WDW in October with my son who will be 15ths when we go and have always walked past the barbers on main street but never really considered going in.

I might not ever be able to afford to take my son to WDW again (hes classed as an infant on the flight until hes 2yrs and hes free in the parks until hes 3yrs after that its way to expensive to take him ) so i want to make this trip extra special and do loads of nice things that I will love telling him about when hes older.

So do you think its worth taking him to the barbers? How much to they charge? and can they do little 'extra' treats when the little ones get their hair cut?

Also if anyone knows of other great ways to make some special memories let me know, I need al the pixie dust i can get!

Thanks

deal

We took our son on first birthday, barber gave haircut, entertained him and gave him stickers to distract him a bit, worked great. For $15 you get that and if its first haircut you get a mouse ears hat that has "first haircut" embroidered on it and a certificate that states it as well. Those are some of the best pictures we got the whole week with our son.

This is something I am so looking forward to doing w/my son. OK, so, he's not even born yet, so I've got a while (haha) but I've always thought this looked super cute and some of the little boys I've seen who've gotten their hair cut there looked like they had so much fun.

They take you on a first-come, first served basis, so do your best to get there first thing, otherwise you may be waiting awhile.

I would call the Disney barber shop one of the best Disney experiences that we can count on every visit. My DD is 6 and has had a haircut at the barber shop each of the last 4 years. It is something she looks forward to with great anticipation each visit. All the barbers/stylists know exactly how to work with little kids to make them very happy - and get a quality haircut to boot! Also, we highly recommend going there a little over an hour before the afternoon parade - even during busy times, you should be done your haircut in time to walk out the front door and have great parade seats in an area that tends not to get crowded.

Definitely do it. The barbers are great with kids and when I was there they made a huge deal out of all the 1st cuts. There are balloons and prizes and stickers. During the afternoon, the barbershop quartet drops in often to sing a few numbers, and I'm sure to enjoy the air conditioning.

I pay more for a haircut at Sports Clips than I do at Disney.

If you want an example of their work check out my pic.:)

We took my son when he was 9 months old (he has a lot of hair)and the barbers are amazing. I was convinced that no one could get a kid that age to sit still for more than 5 seconds....they did it for 15 minutes. It is well worth the 18.00 and we are going again in December. Great experience for everyone.

Our son got his first haircut there by MaryLou when he was only 7 months old. It was the best cut (of course he didn't get a ton cut off but she got it so that his hair grew in really nice). We took him for his 1st b-day haircut to a local barber, it was horrible. I have been cutting his hair ever since, we head to Disney in October and I am letting his hair grow out more now so he can get it cut at the shop again. My girls never got a professional haircut, but not sure I really want their haircut, as I just usually trim their bangs up some, now if they can get special treatment as it's a first professional cut, may consider letting them get a little trim. :)

U can make reservations for the barber thru the same number u make dining reservations. I made an appointment in oct for my sons first hair cut. I think the price was around $20 and CC number was taken to hold our spot. I love the idea of knowing when we can go and get his hair cut. I don't like the idea of waiting in line only to fund out they are full everyday we are MK.

I will post pics afterwards. I hope u have a magically trip!

While I have not gotten a haircut there it looks really nice, if i ever needed a haircut I probably would try it out (I always seem to be out of town getting them though)

Located near the firehouse in a corner overlooked by many families at WDW

Prices did go up back in june so it is a little more (confetti is free but hair color / gell is extra)
