Bad Wait Times?

So here we are first week in September. As expected, the wait times at Disney have plummetted to very small times. However, according to my apps, US and IOA, have wait times that are not normal for this time of year. Very long. In fact some of these are worse than what they were in the prime of summer. Its been like that two days in a row now. Can anyone explain this?

Depending on the app you use, some of them are just "predicted" wait times and not what the current wait time actually is. That said, Universal's attendance has skyrocketed since WWoHP opened, so that is definitely a factor.

Yeah, my buddy used an app while we were in Magic Kingdom on our last trip, and all the times from the app were much longer than what the actual wait times really were. We would get to a ride and check the app to see the accuracy, and very seldom if ever was it correct. As previously said, some apps you have to take with a grain of salt.

I don't know about that one, I've seen some pretty lengthy posted waits at both parks this summer. One day I was in IOA and most of the lines were in the 60-75 min range (except for Dragon Challenge) - Ripsaw Falls was posted at 95 mins on that day!

I went two Sundays ago to IOA and the longest posted wait was 45 minutes for Ripsaw Falls - Forbidden Journey was 15 mins each of the three times we went up to Hogwarts throughout the day. My wait time app was at least 15 to 20 minutes off on all of the attractions, so I quit referring to it for the day. Some wait time apps allow users to send in wait times, which could be the issue, but as said above it could also be estimates which are not accurate at all.

Just want to say...was there monday and the park was deserted. Forbidden Journey was a walk on. I was in shock. I practically had the area to myself.

We were there on September 8, the day after the OP, and I can say we walked on everything. There was no wait, even for the Forbidden Journey. We only did IOA. Only BLuto's Barges were closed, otherwise, longest wait was Dudley Do Right. Maybe 10 minutes. No wait on anything else.
