Bad time to go?

Hello all. Well I have officially started to plan our trip again after having a bit of a set back with flight bookings. The situation was that there are 6 kids and 7 adults going on this trip. The problem was that the father in law had all the flights covered via air miles. Only problem was to find a booking where we could all go at once. We were even having trouble finding a flight for just a family of 5. Today we were informed that we could book everyone together on March 30th,2011 and come back on either the 12th or 13th.

So what I am asking is for a little feedback on this date as to how actually busy it is around then. I do know April is suppose to be a busy time with spring breaks and all. If I could get an idea when some of these different spring breaks might hit in order to try plan the trip so it is not so hectac for the kiddlets that would be great. Or is it that bad in April that it might not be worth it for the kids to have to endure this for their first experience? The kids will be 3 boys(10,9,and 9) girls(12, 7,and 5). So any suggestions would be excellent. Thanks all in advance.

Welcome to the forum! :D

April really is not a great time of year to go, but it's better than June/July/August. It will be crowded in April because of Spring Break like you said, but at least the weather will be fairly comfortable. It's probably about 10° cooler in April than it is Jun-Aug, so at least waiting in lines won't be as unpleasant as it is in the middle of the summer. That will make it more tolerable for the kids. I've gone in June and it wasn't horrible, but I much prefer late September.

As for waiting in the queues for rides and attractions, I don't think that will ruin the experience at all. Disney's strength is the quality of the experience of waiting for their rides. There's plenty of things to look at in line for most attractions. Although, it doesn't hurt to have some kind of game for them to play if they get restless, like I-spy, or A-Z games.... stuff like that. It should keep them occupied for long enough. :D

Good luck!

We went spring bring in 06 and it wasn;t too bad..crowed but not stupid crazy! As far as spring breaks go, I would figure spring breaks start the 2nd week in March (for the college crowds) and then carry over to the 3rd week in April around Easter (for the late starters, here in Va we start the day after labor day! Good Luck planning!

APRIL IS NOT BAD AT ALL!

We go every year at that time and love it. beautiful weather, manageable crowds but you have to know what your going to fast pass before you go. For example, Lets say you go to DHS and see that Rockin Roller Coster has a 40 minute wait. you think thats too long and so you fast pass that attraction. The you make it over to TSM and are stuck waiting in a 2 hour line.

If you do want to go I would book your hotel soon. Last year we wanted to stay at POP for april and it was booked for the week we wanted by the end of october so we had to stay somewhere else.

We went Easter weekend and the parks were a bit busy (when are they not really, I know some said Sept right after school, I just got in tonight from there, but didn't do the parks during the day only 2 night special event at MK) Just DO NOT stay at AS SPORTS during that time period, that was the busiest place of them all.

No, it's not bad. It will be crowded but it won't be hot and crowded, which is what you'll find during the summer. If you haven't used one before, you may want to look into a touring plan.

Have fun!

We went once in late April/early May and the parks where a ghost town...

Yup, late April into May is slow again for a short time until Summer vacation begins for the kids in June. That was perfect timing on your part because you avoided both the Spring Break and Summer rushes. ;)

2nd week in March to 3rd week in April are the busiest during those two months.
