I had to get Back one last time. So last week on the 10th, I headed out to ride it before it closed. Took a bunch of photos. Thought I'd share.

As far as I've heard, it's still set for somewhere on or around October 1st. The rumors are just that though since USF won't comment specifically on when it's set to happen. It was originally rumored to be the 16th, but it was changed to "Before October 1st." I wouldn't count on it being around many more days though. It might not even make it next weekend. Hard to say for sure.

I still can't see it being closed during HHN... I mean, there's only a few rides to do as it is... at least leave BTTF open for one last go...

Wikipedia says the ride will close on October 1, but I have a feeling it might be open during peak nights at HHN to spread out the crowds.

Back to the Future

Does anyone know whether the shop will remain open, I am a massive fan and will be sorry to see it go, although it was showing its age and was very old fashion style ride. Hopefully as rumoured The Simpsons style ride will replace this.

I'm actually hoping that the other rumor is true, that the Simpson's will replace Jimmy Neutron in a year or two and that something much bigger is set to go in the BTTF pavilion.

I don't know about the shop. Sadly, there was almost zero BttF merchandise there when I went. Just a lot of Part II and Part III model cars. Everything else was generic or non-BttF themed. :(

It'd be a waste to re-do it completely since the DeLorean coming through the wall is pretty cool looking. It might get renamed or something though.

The shop is set to close at some point as well, I'm assuming it'll be rethemed to either just a generic shop or as a tie in for whatever the new ride will be.

Nice tribute. I will miss BTTF. As a guy who spent his HS and college years in the 80s, Back to the Future was sort of a seminal movie of that era. I will admit that although I thought the ride was well themed, I didn't particularly care for the script (too much time in prehistoric times which had no connection to the movie). I just hope that the re-theming of the ride is to a movie that turns out to be an important franchise type movie. Can't say that I think that either Simpsons, Fast and the Furious or Transformers qualifies though I guess the Simpsons is probably the closest. Seems odd to go for a cartoon however as it will essentially be a very similar attraction to Jimmy Neutron if it is animation rather than live action.
