Back from 2 weeks trip

I respect that and know that it tends to be a little tough in the inner-cities like New York, Philly, Boston, Chicago, LA, and Washington and we tend to be a little brash and rude. (Barnum42, your probably thinking we are yobs!! ) But that what comes from the upbringing. I grew up in a working class, blue collar neighborhood. Fists speak louder than words and talking your way out of a situation was a sign of wekaness. I guess that's why you always hear about fights in the football (american) and baseball stadiums of the cities since the less educated guy can't out-talk so he talks with his fists!

For all the times that I got popped in the head (by parents or otherwise) I am surprised I didn't dumb down a bit.

I think of a bumber sticker I see quite frequently traveling through the city to my parent's house, "My kid beat up your honor student". Definitely not the echelon of society displaying these on their cars but they make me laugh nonetheless!!

I grew up in the exact same neighborhood that I live in now, but how it is now is totally different than what it was. Its more of a lotta gangs, and druggies and stuff. Not much fighting and stuff, but it isnt the best neighborhood around. But just because I live in this neighborhood around these people doesnt mean I have to be like them, and Im not. Because I grew up in a christian home, and should know right from wrong, but I do mess up sometimes.

So I apoligize to you phily dude, if I started mess. I also apoligize to anyone else who may have gotten offended by my earlier comments.

Can we just turn this thread around please, becasue I really enjoyed myself this trip, and also bought a lot of great souviners. I bought a pal mickey and A LOT of monorail stuff, and this test track toy race car thingy.

And if yall dont mind, could yall answer the question I had about splash mountian in my original post, and that other question about the tower of terror(about it being dark entering the drop shaft all day).

Thanks

I don't really have an answer to your splash question, but I did notice the same thing. Although I didn't mind it at all because even with a fast pass the wait was very short and the line set up wasn't all that different from other rides fast pass lines. I would imagine it was redone to help things flow more smoothly. Separating people at the loading dock may sometimes have gotten confusing and could have possibly delayed lining them up at the logs. By separating in advance, it makes it so there's just one line to deal with at the loading dock. Hope this theory helps, although it is just a theory and not proven fact.

By the way, not to start anything, but I have to say I agree with phlydude on the sitting down thing. It just upsets me when people leave early or stand up in front of me because it blocks my view of a show that I only get to see maybe once a year. All I'm saying is that others would really appreciate it if you would respect the people behind you by letting them have an unobstructed view of a show. I really don't mean this in a mean way, so please don't misunderstand me. I would probably ask you to sit down by saying something like "Excuse me, but we're trying to watch the show. Could you please sit down?" If that would offend you then I'm sorry. (I've actually asked people to sit down before like that and they usually ignore me which makes me madder, but I can't do anything so I usually just get over it)

Well OK, the spooky stuff didnt really scare me that much, its just that it was so dark in the whole thing leading into the big drop. My guess as two why it was so dark was because we rode it at night. But my question is, if I rode it in the day time would it be that dark going into the drop shaft after he says something like, "You're about to find out what lies on beyond the fifth dimension and in............ the twilight zone." I couldnt even tell the doors opened and we were looking out at the studio hardly, but I did manage to give a thumbs up and short smile at the camara.

Another problem I had was that the entire ride was built on the story(which is a good story BTW, and I just recently started looking at the twilight zone on scifi, and that also motivated me to ride it even more.) that by the rime you finally got to the drop, it was more like you just bouncing up and down, and it wasnt like I was really falling. I know that they pull you down instead of drop you, but it didnt feel like we were being pulled all the way down except for like 2 ft then we go up and down again at the same lenght. My dad didnt know what to expect at all, so throughout the entire first portions he kept telling me to hold on, and I kept telling him what was about to happen.

Sorry just realized you had the tower of terror question or I would have mentioned it in my above post. It is still dark when you enter the shaft even in the daylight because that part is still in the show building. You can see out into the studios when the doors open better during the day (obviously) but most of the drop is also still dark during the day. The only part that's light is when you're up where the doors are open at the top of the tower. Some sequences are better than others, and the good ones do go all the way down from top to bottom. I kinda like the bouncing effect as long as I get at least one drop all the way down. It's a great ride and I love it (I almost missed my flight home yesterday because I wanted the one last ride on it :lookaroun ) I do understand, however, about you not liking it. My 19 year old brother and 25 year old ex-boyfriend both hate the ride so don't feel bad about not liking it, it's just not for everyone.

OK, I may ride it again because I do realize there are more than one sequence to the ride. The bouncing wasnt really too bad, but its just the darkness for that long was a little intimidating. I was laughing so hard when I found out my dad was so scared when the elevator was leaving the lift part going into the drop shaft, that was histerical.

But more than likely I will ride it again, but to tell the truth, since we did ride it at night, and the park was closed after we got off, I couldnt really get much sleep that night at our resort becasue I kept thinking about the tower.

Funny huh. ANyways thanks for the answer

You're welcome

I totally understand about not sleeping at night (although I'm not sure it's ever happened to me). The ride is about a haunted hotel, then what do you do? Go to a hotel and try to sleep! Especially with the ride effects being a little freaky (I must admit, that I never was particularly fond of the part where the ride enters the ride shaft. Something about knowing that NOTHING but empty space is below and thinking of all the highly unlikely what-ifs. Wow sometimes knowledge can be a bad thing! ) Hey if you ride again, I really hope you enjoy yourself. If not, at least you tried it and got the experience of it all, which is more than some can say including my best friends fiance!

Ill more than likely talk my dad into riding it again. Its funny though, becasue Im the kinda person who never get scared on rollercoasters(except rockin rollercoaster, somehow, Im always nervious before I ride that one) freefall rides or anything. But on tower of terror, I was shaking so bad in the boiler room waiting to get on the ride, and oh the CM was no help, but thats his job which he did really really well. But the only thing I was worried about was the spooky stuff not the drop itself. I never get scared when Im going up on a rollercoaster or anything, but I was nervoius on Tot. But it is a really good ride, esp if your into the twilight zone, and into thrill rides.

But Ill be sure to drop in again. lol
