Baby Zebra at AKL Dies

This is a sad story. My wife and I saw this baby zebra from our balcony when we were there in December. It made our trip so much better just seeing it run around the safari.

Zebra tragically dies at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge

Onlookers took video of Animal Kingdom employees trying to save the zebra's life.

Sad to lose any animal but baby animals can get spooked easily. Tragic that it ran towards the gate.

It's sad whenever something so young passes. Hopefully the Castmembers and Disney can learn from this experience.

Terrible news, perhaps they can figure out better ways to cushion the fencing.

I'm not an animal expert by any stretch, but I'm really questioning the wisdom of putting ostriches in the same pen as a baby zebra. (Also, it makes sense that the zebra would run for the gate...equines run for their "safe area" when they feel threatened...which is why horses will run back into a burning barn.)
