Avoiding Everything That Is The 7D Mine Train!

we arrive on may 14 hope it will be open then.my family and i are excited about riding it also.we have watched the building process since the first year.we have taken pictures each year from a hole in the ground to what it has become now .can hardly wait so excited.
May 2nd was posted somewhere as the grand opening date. But I would guess they will run a soft opening weeks ahead of that date.

I am 31 days away and have avoided the videos. I was there in Feb. and spend a decent amount of time looking at the almost finished outside and watched them do empty runs. I will be there on May 2 and hope to get on. Have been waiting a long time to ride this, as we all have.

Current rumor is week of the 17th for soft openings. There is still construction work going on and CMs are just starting training so this date seems reasonable.

Nice, those would be awesome to wear. We were at Disneyland for our honeymoon, in 1992, yikes I am getting old!

Not at all, I haven't watched any videos of the Festival of Fantasy parade yet either. I want to see it for the first time with my own eyes!

I did the same thing when Everest opened. I avoided on-ride videos and was glad I did. Experiencing the ride like that for the first time brought me back to memories of my very first trip to WDW as a kid. It was awesome.
I'll try to avoid 7DMT videos when it finally opens... it'll be tough but I already spoiled the new Test Track for myself, so I need to be strong lol.

Oh man I I have not been on that yet either, last trip to WDW was 2011, 2012 was DCL and last year was Uni for a week. But I have not seen any videos fort either

I avoided everything "Be Our Guest"! I wanted everything to be a surprise when we ate there last year, and it was! I really think it was better that way, not knowing anything.
I haven't done the same thing with 7DMT though, but then again, I don't know when I'll ride that. Probably when DD is tall enough, and that won't be on the next trip. I don't want to use a FP on something she can't ride, and I doubt we'll wait in the standby line that is sure to be packed. But I totally understand wanting it to be a surprise.

Just go in with no expectations (except a long line, of course) and you won't be disappointed.

I am also trying to avoid videos and pictures. I have, however, gone to MK to see the exterior of the ride in person. I don't know that I will be there for the first day of dress rehearsal/soft opening, so I will have to be even more careful when that happens.
I did the same for the FoF parade. I did accidentally scroll through some elements of the parade that my friends posted, but overall, I was glad to stay away from most spoilers until I actually saw it in person.

Not even sure if I'll get to ride it this year, so I like seeing the videos and pics. It does make me a little sad though.
