Average time at BOG dinner?

I was lucky enough to score a dinner ADR for BOG on 5/12 at 8:45 pm. I have a FP+ for wishes at 10:00pm (arrive between 9:35-9:55). What is the average amount of time I would be in BOG? Would I have enough time there before my FP in the new area outside Casey's Corner?

In case you're wondering, I chose to do the FP because of its new location. It's also my arrival date where I'm not in MK until the evening anyway. So I chose 7DMT at 7:45 pm, Wishes at 10pm and the 11pm MSEP (also haven't watched from the Town Square either) as my FPs.

It depends on how long you take to eat and how promptly you're seated, but as long as you: (1) arrive early for your ADR; (2) if possible, look the menu over beforehand and decide what you want -- including for dessert -- so you can place orders right away; and (3) don't linger over your meal, I think you'll be fine. My family of relatively quick eaters has never spent more than 50minutes in any TS restaurant, unless there was a substantial delay in our getting seated (or unless there was live entertainment to watch). Once you order at BOG, the food arrives very quickly.

Also, let your server know you are on a tight timeline, and that you'd like your bill as soon as possible. Sometimes servers wait uncomfortably long to give you the bill, and you can be stuck twiddling your thumbs over your empty dessert plates for quite some time otherwise.

If you want to save time, have your app and entree come out together instead of waiting for each one...that'll really speed things up.

Thanks. I'll probably need to. I have a pet peeve about my app coming out at the same time as my entree. I may have to make an exception in this case.

OR, just skip the app altogether. I mean, that's kind of the reason I have a pet peeve about the app coming out the same time as the entree. If I knew the servers were going to do that, I wouldn't have ordered the app to begin with. I would just eat the entree. Probably the better choice for my wallet and my stomach anyway.

We've been once, and I was surprised how much emphasis our waitress had on us taking our time....unlike when we went to o'hana...I was wondering if there were complaints about meals being rushed, or are character dining done differently?

I believe it took us an hour to an hour to an hour and a half total. I think we waited outside about 20 minutes, and we ate early.

Oh geez you guys - if you are going to be paying these wacky prices, why rush it? The restaurants are attractions unto themselves, and speaking only for myself, if I am dropping a hundred dollars or more on a meal, I am going to take my sweet time and enjoy every minute of the experience rather than rushing as fast as possible to get through it so I can get to a Fast Pass or a Parade. I understand that others have different priorities, and I respect that as well.

So much hinges on how quickly they can seat you and how speedy they are with service. I don't know if BOG has changed, but the last couple of times we've dined there, we were not permitted to check in more than 15 minutes prior to our ADR time. Our first time dining there, we also waited 45 minutes to be seated. So, technically 30 minutes after our ADR time since we checked in 15 min before. I believe we had a 7:45pm ADR that evening, but between the wait to be seated and slow service, Wishes was starting as we were leaving.

It was the only time they had an ADR and the only night we'll be in MK when they have the parade and fireworks - lots of MNSSHP that week. We ate at BoG last trip and spent about an hour and a half but may have to speed things up this time.

Will cross my fingers. Did wonder if a later ADR than we had last time would mean a longer wait. We had a 5pm one last time and were seated fairly promptly. May have to see if there's any other way to see the MSEP in our plans.

You just never know. I mean, some restaurants are usually pretty punctual, others vary, and others are so notoriously late that you make ADRs 30-40 min early because of their reputation. BOG is one that I'd say varies. As for MSEP...I don't know what anyone else's observations on this have been, but on our last 3 trips...nearly every single night we've been in MK...they've done a 2nd running of MSEP shortly after Wishes. It rarely makes the calendars, but it seems to happen a lot.

It shouldn't necessarily mean a longer wait, but it may. If each table is scheduled to take 45 mins to turn over (or whatever their metric is), and each of the 4 sittings in front of you (4:30, 5:15, 6, 6:45) ran over by 3 minutes, suddenly you are indeed going to be 12-15 mins late for your seating even if you are there on time. BoG CMs hopefully would be encouraging people to order, and then take the 5-10 minutes it takes food to show up to walk around and look. Or heck, even wait until after they are done to look around. Showing up early would help to minimize any delay. I'd think if you show up early you should be able to watch it, but perhaps not from your desired spot.

I originally had an ADR for Kona Cafe around 6:00 pm before entering MK and the same FP+. Then BOG opened up. No brainer to take the 8:45pm time slot. So I moved up the 7DMT FP+ to 7:45pm and kept the other two for Wishes at 10pm and MSEP at 11:00. Hence, my original question asking how long in BOG until Wishes at 10pm. I've since said, I won't sweat it, though.
