I have made a new avatar, but can't post it because it says its over 20-something bytes. What does that mean? And it's under 160x160, it's only 130 by something.

It's over 20000 bytes. Reduce the size down by (a) if it's a JPG, increasing the compression or (b) if it's a GIF, reduce the number of colors.
