People will ride anything while visiting the park. They could build an empty warehouse full of projections and people will stand in line for hours to see it.
Oh wait....
I'm happy I wasn't the only one who caught the "No Comment" comment, or non-comment, or no comment non-comment, from Bob on that last earning's call regarding selling the entire company to Apple. Or someone else.
Something is up. Or could be up. Or will be up. That's for sure.
The Tomorrow of Tomorrowland has come and gone. Avatar is the new tomorrow that'll never come. I'm happy if they find a way to square this circle.
Daigon Alley is pretty awesome, but I agree the 1 ride in the land is a huge letdown. The land itself is pretty spectacular though.
You never know, Apple could be interested in purchasing the parks. I mean at first no one though that Comcast would want the Universal parks but they did and it has done wonders for Universal. Either way regardless of whether Apple wants the parks division or not, I hope new management of however gets the parks will A. invest more in new attractions and B. speed up construction timelines. An Apple purchase would be great but I would suspect that the parks division would be sold off by Apple. If they sold the parks division to the Oriental Land Company, that would be tremendous.
Micechat a little while ago published an article where they claim that a fully fledged Avatar land is indeed in the works for DLR and Hollywoodland at DCA is in the running to be replaced with this Avatar land.
Considering how by the time they get to building this hypothetical Avatar land, I wonder if they will incorporate elements from the sequel into the land vs giving us the exact attractions from Animal Kingdom. Like would a D ticket dark ride go in the spot of the Sunset Theater? Or could they fit something like Navi River Journey back there? That area makes the most sense in terms of unused space. That entire back section is empty soundstages, and a dark ride worth losing.

I think Micechat just speculated that location, they didn’t claim insider info on that one.Micechat a little while ago published an article where they claim that a fully fledged Avatar land is indeed in the works for DLR and Hollywoodland at DCA is in the running to be replaced with this Avatar land.

Ok, this was 2 months ago so it wasn't recent, and it was all speculation.Disneyland Update - Snubbed, Overlooked, & Sold Out!
It's been a rollercoaster week at Disneyland! With the opening of the revamped Tiana's Palace, success of the new San Fransokyo dining district, and near completion of the Adventureland Treehouse and Disneyland Villas hotel tower,www.micechat.com
I just don't see how it would work well. It would be smaller. They don't want to get rid of the Hyperion, so it's will just be this random mountain range and jungle next to the Carthay and Hollywood Blvd. Not to mention that the land doesn't fit California unless we are visiting the "set" of the film. Just bad ideas all aroundConsidering how by the time they get to building this hypothetical Avatar land, I wonder if they will incorporate elements from the sequel into the land vs giving us the exact attractions from Animal Kingdom. It would just take over the backlot portion. And who knows, maybe Disney plans on rebranding DCA down the line.I just don't see how it would work well. It would be smaller. They just rebranded the park in 2012. How many rebrands can one park possibly go through? It would just take over the backlot portion. And who knows, maybe Disney plans on rebranding DCA down the line.
Great Movie Ride!Build a headlining, thematically appropriate attraction.
If Avatar is to placed in Hollywoodland, or California Adventure, a different approach is certainly warranted. I can't recall where the idea came from, be it mine or other, but a large scale indoor experience would be best. Planet Pandora is a hyperrealistic environment and while the land at Animal Kingdom makes an admirable attempt at recreating it, from what I've observed it doesn't seem truly alien. In an indoor land you could better represent the environment, with controlled lighting, sonic ambiance, and artificial foliage unlike anything on earth. Setting it perpetually in the evening only makes sense as that is when it looks the most fantastic. No matter where they decide to build the Avatar experience, I would be less enthusiastic about a reproduction of the Florida land while there is a more immersive way to bring the film's world to life.I just don't see how it would work well. It would be smaller. They don't want to get rid of the Hyperion, so it's will just be this random mountain range and jungle next to the Carthay and Hollywood Blvd.
