Autograph Books

When we went to Disney, we got an idea from one of the Disney sites that worked really well! We bought the Disney Jr. Encyclopedia of Disney animated characters. It has pretty much all the animated characters, minus the newest ones. It tells a little about each character, has nice drawings of the character, sometimes even having a cool quote or fun facts, etc. And there is enough space for the autographs, each character has their own page. To us this was a great idea, instead of having blank pages with names, we have their autographs on their character pages. Our daughter likes to read about the characters and see their autographs.

Yes, this is what we use as an autograph book as well! It's a FUN book, and the characters loved it! Here's a link to Amazon for anyone who's interested. http://www.amazon.com/Disney-Junior...sr=8-1&keywords=disney+character+encyclopedia

What a fantastic idea!! I love this! I may have to pick one of these up before our next trip. I suppose I can take all of our current autographs and transfer them into the pages and/or in the front/back of the book too so we don't lose them. One question: Are the majority of the characters in here strictly movie based or do characters from shows, say Handy Manny or whatever, included?

The characters are movie based not show based, so no Handy Manny. However most of the animated movie characters are there except for the newest ones, it doesn't have Tiana,Rapunzel, or Merida, but almost all other animated characters, including those from Cars, Up, Nemo, Enchanted. Toy Story, as well as the classics, and all other princesses except for those mentioned above.

Rather than an autograph book, my kids (ages 13 & 10) came up with the idea to have the characters sign one of the large (9") design you own vinylmations. We made sure to bring some good sharpies along with us. They turned out great. I will see if my daughter can post some pics.

This is my Daughter's autograph book. We bought it on Etsy for $10 plus shipping it was about $14 total. The pages inside are nice and thick. I put pictures of her with each character on the facing page when we got home. Wow! I just looked online line and the price of this book has doubled! Here is the link if anyone is interested.

I have made autograph books for my kids the last few trips. I get 8 1/2 x 11 inch sheets of chipboard and cut it in half for the front and back cover, decorate the front and cover with clear contact paper, then use white cardstock for the inside pages. I usually cut 10 sheets in half and have plenty of pages. Then I take it all to Staples and have them bind it for me.

It may not quite count as it was my first ever trip to wdw, but when I was 16 I collected as many autographs as i could, in my Disney autograph book, and I have kept it all these years! My brother was 11, he was just as enthusiastic.

Don't buy the autograph book there. Pricey. Make your own. They always have dollar small notebooks at target that are disney. And they will hold a couple years worth plus I always put a pic on the opposite page of autograph.

I bought card stock paper because I knew I would be making a scrapbook. I think it was maybe 4x6 size since I can fit them into slots for pictures. Just solid colors and took a black sharpie for them to use to sign.

Darling Daughter is 19 but Special Needs so she loved getting the autographs.

It's so funny kids go from wanting pictures and autographs to not wanting to wait or take pics when they get older but then all of a sudden when they are 26 or around that age or younger they all of a sudden want these memories and talk with the characters. I was one of those kids. I love interacting with characters now. Being a kid its different. Now as we are older all we want to do is sit and talk for hours with the princesses and characters. Just truly amazing. Going with my DD (7) and cant wait to see her face when she sees everyone and asks for autographs while i sit and talk with them like i have known them for years. The funny thing is i have known them for years lol... Hopefully she will be very impressed.. Back to topic hope i can find a book that i can sign on one side and put the pics on under or on top of the signature. Does disney have these books?

I was commenting on that not long ago. DS7's first trip he was 10m old and he LOVED the characters. Two trips later he was petrified of them and it stayed that way for a few years. Since our 2011 trips he's been back to loving them so we started the autograph book(s) up. Me... if things were the way they used to be years and years ago where there weren't set spots/times to meet them and they were free-roaming (pre autograph books) I'd still stop to get my picture with every single one. Having to wait in line for them for an hour or more though... I don't think so. :)

I am so happy my family went to the Disney store yesterday and my ds (10) said he needs a new autograph book! YEA! (he's not too old) So we got him a really nice notebook with Mickey on the cover (already packed). We don't get the regular autograph books but a special blank book. What do you get and how much longer will I be this lucky?
I was so upset when my DS(also 10, but will be 11 on the next trip) said he didn't want an autograph book this time!:( So I went ahead and got the materials and made these for my other two:

I was super excited when he liked them so much that he decided he actually did need one this trip! So I ran out and got the stuff to make this:

I am not crafty at all - so I will not be making ours but friends of ours bought autograph books with a picture sleeve and put the child's picture with the character beside after getting home - I love this idea and will be on the hunt of them in November - we have several ARD's with characters and will likely get our fill there but may look for a few in the parks but not make it a priority.

I just asked my DDs, 11 and 8, if they wanted an autograph book for our upcoming trip and they emphatically said yes. I was so thrilled; I was afraid they might have outgrown it. I ordered the Blue Disney one from the Disney Store and have it tucked away safely for our trip. The girls are already working on their list of M&Gs must-dos. Yay!

We bought them last time and will be taking them back just to get the ones we didn't get last trip. But this year I'm taking my one, that I got from Epcot in 1988 that has Figment on it, and filling in MY blanks. I have Robin Hood, Prince John, Jiminy, Sheriff, Pinocchio, and the sensational six. Looking forward to updating mine the most :)

Just thinking about different things to autograph, and was thinking about the Vinylmation figures and how they are not "flat"
My dad has a tattoo on his arm, it is of Cinderella's Castle, with Mickey in the doorway, Peter Pan and Tink are flying overhead and Captain Hook is trying to get Pan (My dad was born in 1952 - same year as Pan release)
He is thinking of getting Mickey to Sharpie autograph his arm on our last day and then when home go to his cousin and get it tattoed over, therefore having a permanent autograph.
Do you think this is feasible or is there a rule on autographing bodyparts?
