August Planning Question

Hi all. This is the first time I am venturing into the DLR forum! We are contemplating a trip from NY to CA for the summer of 2014, probably August, and of course we can't possibly go to CA without visiting DLR. Since I have plenty of time to plan this, does anyone have any recommendations about the least crowded and most crowded weeks in August to visit DLR? Alternatively, how is the first week of July? Thanks everyone!

Neither July or August are too crowded. Lots of annual passholders are blocked from visiting the parks during that time, so it's not too bad. Crowds get bad during the Christmas season. You should be fine in July or August.

Raven, does this mean we as premier pass holders would have block out dates in early august? Thanks

Good to know. We'll probably focus on the first week in July or the last week of August.
Can anyone tell me what the weather is usually like there at that time of year? Thanks.

Just a quick warning, if you go late August, there's a very big chance Haunted Mansion will be closed for the Halloween/Christmas overlay.

It's most likely going to be hot in July and August. The good thing is the heat is dry and not humid, like Florida. Temps can reach high eighties/low nineties.

Cant wait. Last june we froze for the 7 am openings and at night once that sun went down!! We had to buy sweat shirts for the kids. Im hoping August is hot!!!

Good to know. It would be disappointing to miss the DL version of HM, but I'm happy to hear I wouldn't have to suffer that awful FL humidity.
