August in Disney

We will be returning to Disney for our fifth trip. We have to go before school starts for our kids this time in August. We have never been then, any idea on crowds, heat, are the parks open later at night? We are excited because we are staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge.

The later in the August the better. We were just there, we travelled 12-20, 2008 (Tues-Wed). We absolutley noticed a drop off during the second week. Sure it was hot and sure it was busy. We knew this ahead of time and planned accordingly. We were at the parks when the opened, took a break and went back around 4pm. We also used FP's the best we could. As long as you know what to expect, you can plan ahead and have a great trip.
