Attractions Question

Hey all,
I just got offered a position in Adventureland Attractions at the Magic Kingdom! Needless to say, I am super excited. I have some quick questions, though. When will I find out exactly which attraction I will be assigned to? Will they tell me at Traditions or do I have to wait until later? Also, is there any chance I will have a say in where I am assigned or is it just luck of the draw? Thanks in advance!

Are you coming in as a CP? If so, you'll know your "area" when you do your check in paperwork (not sure how MK is divided up for attractions, I did my attractions CP at DHS), but not the specific attraction. I got my attraction assignment once I came in for my first day of orientation at my specific park. Traditions is pretty "generic" so to speak - it isn't specific to any certain thing job or park wise, so you don't get anything real specific to your job there.

Oh and to answer your other question - you don't really get much say where you "want" to go at first, but sometimes you can try and cross train into other attractions in your area.

Thanks for your help! I'm not coming in as a CP, I already live in Orlando so I'm part time. I already know that I got assigned to Adventureland/Liberty Square. The lady that interviewed me said something about how I should mention that I have theatre experience once I start training. I'm wondering if that will have any influence at all? I wish October would come sooner haha.

It won't influence it right off the bat, but someone might take note later on. Best thing I can tell you is NETWORK like crazy. That's how I got from attractions CP to Entertainment Tech (obviously I had experience in that given field too). I pestered them for an interview, then pestered the pyro managers to get on the Wishes crew. Once again, I had pyro experience, but sometimes you have to try and get meetings set up with the right people. Once you are there and prove you can do your job, it's not too tough to move around.

It's because of JC. If you have theater experience, it could help you get trained there

Thanks! That's really exciting. I'm pretty sure I would die of happiness if I got trained at Jungle Cruise. Fingers crossed!
