Todays attraction............

Dinosaur!

What do you like about this attraction?
What do you dislike about the attraction?
Noticed anything strange or unusual about it?
Have a funny or weird story?

For myself this is 1 of only 2 reasons to visit Animal Kingdom. A neat ride in the dark. It always seems that I get seated right up front , first row left hand side. Right where the Big dino comes out at the end. The building its housed in is pretty neat. Lots of stuff to look at while in line. The special effects are really great. All in all a nice attraction.

Only 5 days to go until I hit WDW!!!!!!!!!

This ride really isn't all that great and definitely not worth the wait. If you have fast pass...go for it. It would be worth it if it were a roller coaster or something. It's also misleading with the line b/c the wait area is in several different rooms so you think, "Oh, I'm almost there!" and then you see another room of lines. I'm just not really a big fan of Dinoland USA at all. Primevil Whirl was a big let down for me. Seems more suitable for childern, kind of like Goofy's Barnstormer in MK. The seats were kind of smaller than average too. Okay, but back to Dinosaur...not my favorite at all!

All I can say is KICK @SS, I loved this ride, very cool, but get there early cause like lotsa people say, not worth a real long line. We got there real early last time and the line was non-existant, so we rode twice, LOVED IT!!!

This ride is good but not my favorite. I have never had a wait time more then 20 mins. It is one of the reasons I go to AK. I think the ride brings alot to AK. I think they have some work to do at AK to bring more people in. But it is a great park to go take a nice walk at and the scenery is great.

This ride is okay, but was better as CTX. Was (is) also better as Indy @ DL. This thing cost around 100 million dollars if I remember correctly, and think about how good a Pirates of the Caribbean or Haunted Mansion you could get with that kind of cash!!!!????

I just don't think that the ride lives up to the cost to build it.

Example of ride that was worth it : Tower of Terror

Just my thoughts...

Yeah its missing alot.

They took the dark ride theory to it's extremeties with this attraction. It's an empty building with expensive equipment and a few animatronic dino's.

It not worth it if you ask me...long or short wait. I was very disapointed after riding it. :(

Heading for the great escape.
Some of you are obviously spoiled by the quality of youre parks if this can be classed as such a bad ride. OK its not the greatest ride ever, but it is certainly entertaining. Think the name change has done more harm than good, but is there any other real changes? I didnt really notice any. And I dont think ive ever waited that long, Which is nice.

According to everything i have heard, when the name change was made from Countdown to Extinction to Dinosaur they also "toned down" the vehicle's ride program, making the ride less fierce for the younger audience of the movie... I can't remember whether they changed the height restriction as well but it was definitely a different experience before the name change.

NOTE : I'm not saying it is a bad ride... but I enjoy Buzz Lightyear just as much and it isn't nearly as hyped. This ride is compared to the best rides in all of the other parks (Splash & Space Mountains, Test Track, Tower & RnR) but to me it just doesn't belong in their league. That's what is at debate here... noone is saying it is a bad ride.

I am a big fan of the ride and consider it to be a "must see" attraction at AK. It does "feel" like some things have changed since the name change but I think it is still pretty darn good.

I've never had to wait in line for this ride for some reason. Maybe because it's rather hidden in the back of Dinoland.

I've ridden this ride as both CTX and Dinosaur, and I didn't see a difference other than the outside sign and dinosaur change. I prefer the CTX name.

What everyone is asking right now is how does it stack up to the other rides... I think that as far as the new rides go, this one has the makings of a classic. Give it a few years and your thoughts will change.

Trust me, ride this one without having any idea of what it is and you'll have a real blast. The ride doesn't throw me around as much now, but the the sensation of movement (via tires) really works.

I've never ridden on any of the Indy rides, so I do not know how it compares.

For what it is- I love this ride.

I still really enjoy riding the ride. and I can ride it over and over again. I did like CTX better though they shouldn't have toned the ride down.

Cool name: CTX
The new name? It's from re-made
"The Land Before Time"

Odd time-machines there.
Looks like they were made from jeeps
Not DeLoreans.

That pterodactyl
Looks convincing as a
Cheap stuffed animal.

A "car-no-taurus"?
So it's a car, but not the
Ford station-wagon.

It's a so-so ride
Trade it for Forbidden Eye
From California.

I just LOVE this ride. Maybe because, oddly enough, I've never had to wait. It's just a fun dark-ride with a few cool effects. (Although I just WISH they would get rid of the whole "INCOMING!" Ptyerodactyl thing. Lamelamelame.

Three thoughts though:

'Spiderman' over at IOA (please don't kill me for this) blows this ride away!

'Countdown to Extinction' was a FAR better name!

I've never been on the Indy ride at DL - but I am a HUGE Indy fan and would trade 'Dinosaur' in a heartbeat!

From what I've seen and heard I would have to agree but the two rides utilize totally diferent technology And ride systems. and the concept is totally diferent...so you really can't compare the two fairly.

Really?? Shows what I know. I thought the ride system was pretty much the same... just more advanced. Anyone know more?
