Attraction in the Most Need of a Refurbishment

Does anyone remember that a permit was issues in recent months for a partial demolition of the WoL pavilion? Add to that the unknown known of unknown identity of that so-called 2015 EC "mystery" attraction, the sorry state of much of everything at EC, Rats being cloned in France, and Frozen in Norway, Imagination rumors, Soaring rumors, etc.

I'd say the Imagineers have a "big fix" being worked on for the park in general. I just hope Iger sees it through to completion and that TDO doesn't screw it up!

Interactivity sounds cool in theory, but I believe if cheapens the experience in many cases and gets old much faster. The greatest attractions are great on their own and the viewer just enjoys what is presented.
Especially trying to shoe-horn it into a ride that didn't previously have it. I actually kind of like new Test Track... except the design process and the attempt to integrate that into the ride. It does nothing for the ride but list your cars on the screens. The explanation of how uploading your car links to the SIM car ride vehicle is abstract at best, and probably lost on most guests.

It might be cool if it added some competition, like, say, you're competing scores with your friends, but if you compare each other's vehicle numbers on the design screen, you already know who will win each category. Again, the ride does nothing with the data.

Exactly. It's a poor fit and is essentially an interactive queue that means nothing when you board. It's a shame because I'm sure it cost plenty of money to build and integrate. I'd much rather have seen it go into Universe of Energy or the Imagination pavilion. I think the Original Test Track needed something, but it was nowhere near as desperate as other areas in EPCOT:

In no particular order but need refurbishment/love more than Test Track did:

Universe of Energy
Imagination
Innoventions
The entire wonders of life pavilion
Spaceship Earth ending
soarin

I could go on

The first greenhouse, in Living With the Land, either requires structural or glass work. On Saturday, August 16th, a considerable amount of water was leaking into various parts of the greenhouse during a heavy rain. Wet sand patches made it obvious.

Personally, I would prioritize a structural issue because prolonged water damage will have a greater impact than dated dialogue.

Wow, EC is even worse than I thought it was!

I was just thinking last night about the dilemma of "updating" the COP....in final scene....is it truly positive and "progress" if they showed it like it really is today? Guess they would have to show everyone on their phones or tablets and not communicating with each other?.....sigh....maybe updating isn't needed after all....there is a great big beautiful tomorrow, but not sure more technology always makes things better....can't think on how to update it and keep the charm....tight rope to balance. Newer clothing beyond the 80's to start with....

Guess I still think in the MK at least, that while my fondest wish is for Stitch to just vanish, and that would be a huge improvement, the attraction needing the MOST plussing is the Tommorowland Speedway.....more theming and detailing and perhaps new cooler cars that all don't look alike....sometimes I think a Cars Pixar overlay would be perfect, othertimes I just think it would be more fun to have things to drive through, past and give more visual stimulation. But to keep with the tommorowland theme should be futuristic, even if it is retro future imho....;)

Magic Kingdom:
Buzz Lightyear (I say get rid of it. If this 'Tomorrowland' movie is successful, I don't see it lasting till the 50th.)
Peter Pan's Flight (As most have already said, the thing is creaky. Charming, and a classic, but at least install a smoother track system.)
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad (I wouldn't say this if I had not seen videos/reports of the DL update. That stuff is amazing.)

Epcot:
Universe of Energy (This needs...work. Like serious work. Ellen absolutely wins the award for worst AA.)
Journey Into Imagination (For the love of God, bring back the classic ride. One of the biggest F-Ups Disney every made.)
Spaceship Earth (Now that Siemens' sponsorship is nearing its expiration, I think the splendor of the second incarnation needs to be restored.)

Hollywood Studios:
Great Movie Ride (Update the movies. Get RID of the live CM narrator. Or at least cast capable actors. Dear lord! It seriously lessens the ride when I get second hand embarrassment instead of joy out of the proceedings.

Animal Kingdom:
It's Tough to Be A Bug (The quality of the video is horrible, and the AA's seldom work. Either get rid of it, or invest the money to make it spectacular again.

I'm in agreement with this whole post! Especially the bolded section:)

2. Soarin'. The first time we rode, there was a hole in the screen right in front of me. And every time after that, there's been spots on the film from being played continuously. And Soarin' at WDW should be something other than a tour of the State of California. How about Florida? Or the East Coast starting with the Keys? I am hoping the planned refurb includes digital. Wonders, I love your domed theatre idea!

Around this time last year, rumors started swirling that Soarin’ at Epcot would soon be going under refurbishment and getting a brand new movie. There was even word that it would soon be called “Soarin’ Around the World,” but then again, these rumors have been around for years and years. Now though, it appears as if something is finally about to happen.
Many have not been happy that Disneyland is featured prominently in Soarin’ at Epcot, and it has been that way ever since it came into existence.
Now, it looks like the new film for Soarin’ at Epcot will begin filming within the next month.
It is being said that film crews will start working on the new film for the popular Epcot attraction soon, and there will be filming flights over Walt Disney World, but more specifically, Epcot.
This footage will be a part of Soarin’ Over the World, and is going to have footage from Disneyland, Walt Disney World, and all around the world.
There has been talk in the past of a third theater into The Land, but that is far from confirmed. There isn’t a whole lot of room left in The Land as it is now, but Disney has been known to make changes before.

As much as I wish for an updated Journey into Imagination...Universe of Energy needs an update. Badly. As of now, it's a 90's themed 40-minute break from the Florida heat. Not exactly something to tout about one of your attractions.

This isn't an attraction exactly, but tomorrowland is in horrible shape. Standing at the hub and looking towards tomorrowland terrace reminded me of a used car lot. I'm not sure what the plans are after the hub is done, but they need some attention to detail in that area. I didn't realize how far TL has fallen until our adults only trip...Stitch and LF are a waste of space and the dance party is ridiculous. It was modern dance music blasted loud seemingly all day and night killing whatever TL atmosphere is left. Why can't they use kids music or at least the kids versions? Then at least I wont have to see a dozen latin american women acting like they're in a club, while toddlers try to dance with the Incredibles.

And speaking of atmosphere, standing at the restrooms at the main gate and looking towards Tony's I was clearly able to see a handful of delivery vans and several cranes/lifts in the back area. Not cool.

I agree 100%!

The Tomorrowland Area music is probably one of my favorite pieces of music there at the park, and I enjoy hearing it while relaxing on the TTA Peoplemover! I hate not being able to hear it anytime they are doing anything on that stage and it takes away from the atmosphere, as you mentioned!

I nominate Test Track because it's boring, sterile, and anticlimactic as watching Tron Legacy in the waiting room of a car dealership.

Couple that with the Nintendo 64-style graphics for the "design your own car" postshow, and what was once a must-do turns into a "meh, let's just do Spaceship Earth again".

My answer to this is most of the parks. I love WDW, but the attractions have quickly gone from "Before its time" to "Time for the Smithsonian". Instead of focusing on the parks, WDW focuses on access to more people. There have been more resorts built than rides added. The old Fantasyland rides are slightly better than traveling carnival rides. Throwing a coat of paint and replacing lights with LEDs is no real upgrade.

MK: There is enough attractions here for the time being. They need to completely redesign the Space Moutain rollercoaster from the severely outdated trackes to a smoother ride.

Epcot: They need to make some serious replacements for the acts lost. There is not too much for kids to enjoy. It is funny watching kids get dragged through WS knowing they would rather be up front playing around.

DHS: Don't get me started. There are simply no attractions at this park. The shows are getting dated. There are only a handful of rides. Citizens of Hollywood are limited. Star Wars needs to be drastically expanded. Marvels needs a huge presence. They need to get at least 6 more rides in this park on the Muppet/Star Wars side of the park and where BT use to be.

AK: This is moving in the right direction with Avator and the night show. Losing the Jammin Jungle Parade means this is truly a half day park now until Avatar is ready. M&Gs and the parade were main things that kept us in the afternoon. You can get the main attractions done by lunch time.
