I was wondering if there were any Attractions Hosts/Hostess here that i could talk to about working for WDW? I am looking into moving down to Orlando and want to work in Attractions but want to chat with some CM's about there roles.

Sure. What can I help you with? :)

To give you a brief synopsis of what I do, I work in Innoventions at EPCOT as a Presenter. To clarify, Innoventions has two different roles: host/hostess and presenter. A Presenter has a lot more responsibility, but only has to worry about one/two/or three different venues. We have 15-30 page scripts we memorize and deliver to groups of 15-50 about every thirty minutes or so. If you are familiar with Innoventions. I represent The Fantastic Plastics Works and The House of Innoventions. I do have one of the more unique attractions positions. It's a lot different than running a ride.

If you have any questions, let me know! And welcome to the community! :)

Well, to quote http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WDWIP (and I'm sure it's the same for every other program, naturally)...

Participants in the Attractions area work on what Disney has designated an 'Attraction'. An attraction is a ride or show. Applicants may be working loading or unloading guests to and from rides, performing memorized 'spiels' and safety announcements before and/or after shows or working at a Disney's FastPass distribution location. Here, participants may have to greet guests and answer questions, assist guests in entering and leaving the attraction, monitor guest safety at all times, perform a memorized spiel over a microphone, or maintain the cleanliness of the attraction.

Which, to me, sounds like the most fun job ever! :D Incidentally, anyone know what kind of percentage of International College Program people get put in Parking or Park Greeting as opposed to Attractions? I really want to get Attractions! :(

ICP06, now with flights booked to the dream job!

Most CPs are now in Food and Bev from what I have seen. Parking to me is still as fun as attractions especially when you get to spiel.
Before I found my home with DVC I was all over the place.
I have been an attractions hostess for Kilimanjaro Safari and I have been an attraction supervisor for Universal.
Attractions are the heart of the parks. Attractions make up the Operations segment of the business which means the purpose of their role is not to make money but to Operate as smoothly and efficiently as possible. It is a fun area to be in. As a host or hostess it is hard to make ends meet however.

They do have a lot of CPs in Food and Beverage because of high demand and lack of interest from regular CMs, but they still try to vary the responsibilities of CMs around the board. They even have some at WWoS to help with Spring Training.

Erm... I'm ICP... International College Program...

I've already got a place in Ops (thank heavens!!!) and am praying for an attractions position (though, interestingly, I always did find that parking CMs seem to have the most fun :D)

That's why my wonderment was if many ICPs get put in parking or park greeting...
