Does anyone have the latest on attendance at the four parks for yesterday? Traditionally the busiest day of the year at MK - wondering how, Epcot, MGM and AK lined up...

Actually, New Years Eve and the 4th of July are the busiest days of the year. As for yesterday, it rained almost all day, because of this the crowds were less than normal. I don't think any of the parks actually reached capacity yesterday.

Not that I know of...

You could probably find some estimates someplace, but most likely the best you'll get is a yearly estimate... I don't think there would be any way to get specific dates...

Interesting, as you would think that Disney, by far the leader in Theme Park attendance, (I am guessing here), would take the opportunity to brag a little.

lol

Eh.. Recently, they've had some fairly embarrassing numbers... They're coming back up again, though... I believe they are finally at pre-9/11 numbers, but I don't really know...

May be fairly embarrassing but they were still above the rest.

Some of the reasons the information isn't normally given out is due to safety and compitition.

Now granted if you search around hard enought you might be able to figure it out.

EPCOT attendance

I was in EPCOT yesterday and just got home this evening. First of all, it was cold and rainy. I don't know how the crowds usually are supposed to be at that time but they seemed tame. As the day passed the weather got worse and it became easier to get on the rides and into attractions. (Got on Mission Space twice pretty quick). Sorry I don't know official numbers but it wasn't the crowds I had been warned of.

Top annual attendance figures for theme parks around the world are published each year by Amusement Business - an industry trade magazine. They usually make their way into Amusent Today as well - another reliable trade mag. It does not list the figures for every park in the world - only the highest attended ones - though Disney is almost a permanent fixure i the 1 thru 8 slots - so it's always easy to get the answers to that question.

Unfortunately, my AT hasn't come in the mail yet so I can't give the exact stats for Magic Kingdom's annaul attendence for the year at this point.

Christmas Day seemed veeery dead at MGM. The rain cancelled both the Christmas parade and the Spectacle of Lights. The Fantasmic shows went on as normal, but I heard that only about 500 people were in the 8:30 Fantasmic!

I know this doesnt have to do with disney but Islands of Adventure was actually crowded, it was strange. Today on the other hand was a different story, there was no one there, hopefully tomorrow will be better.

Thanks to the crappy weather, attendance was very down on Christmas day, which is usually the Magic Kingdom's busiest day. Both day parades were cancelled, causing a super mass exit between 1-2pm.

I'm not allowed to release numbers, but it was about 1/2 of what it usually might be. Judging by the parking lots, the weather caused a lot of the locals who would usually have come out to not make the trip.

Have to disagree with you. Although New Year's Eve and Fourth of July are packed, several WDW guidebooks (including The Unofficial Guide) has listed Christmas Day as the busiest day of the year at the Magic Kingdom.

The weather has apparently turned that trend this year...

Well, since the park usually closes to capacity on all three days, I guess we can't really say which is busiest. Since the park should technically be full all three days.

Unfortunately, even the Amusement Business numbers are only estimates because Disney does not release any of the info. However, they do seem to be the most accurate estimates out there.

Historically, the week between Christmas & New Year's is the busiest week of the whole year in total attendance.

I can say from experience that the Magic Kingdom was packed beyond imagination when I went on Christmas Day a few years ago. It was the old 'Me and 100,000 of Mickey's Closest Friends' type of instanity. Yes, I know that number is higher than actual capacity, but when it get's to full capacity it sure feels like that many are there.

We had always wanted to go one year for the parade (back when it was live and we were watching it in MA) and then the year we finally had the opportunity to go, they switched to the taped edition so we didn't go.

Anyway, we went the following year and it was completely nuts. The line for Space Mount was 3 hours (pre-FastPass) The crowd for the parade was 15+ deep in Frontierland and Main Street was completely unpassable. I've got some video around somewhere I'll see if I can dig it up and post a couple of stills from it.

The crowds were so bad, we ended up staying only until the parade was over, and then fought our way through the insanity back down Main Street and over to Epcot. It turned out Epcot was just fine that day. A slightly busy day but not too bad.

The key here is that MK is packed on Christmas Day, but the rest of the parks aren't usually too bad. During the rest of the week, pretty much everything is full as many spread out, and others that don't go over the holiday weekend but have the week off head over. I'm looking to head over to MK probably on Wednesday (temp will be back up to 70's) to see if I can get a good video of the Christmas Parade. I have one from MVMCP but it's a little darker than I might like so time for another try. It's likely to be pretty busy, but not nearly as bad as Christmas Day.
