Guess who got to go behind "the wall" to see Storytime with Belle today?? Woo hoo! It was amazing! DH was chosen to be an actor and even had his pic taken with Belle by a photo pass photographer stationed there just for that purpose! I will post picsas soon as I get home and settled!

Where at? I guess it's different for us because we open and close the park we go to. When we leave there's usually 4 other cars in the lot at the most.
We would leave at park closing....it has been a while since we drove, but it seemed to be a pain to catch the tram and then miss gridlock in the parking lot. Could be it is more efficient now, or not as bad as I remember.

Additionally, I travel for work, and hate to drive...surely that influences my disdain for driving.

Right on...when we get there, we want to take easy...the buses are our Magic Carpet to and fro.

Ditto.. We have our car with us but will not use it unless we have to. 4 trips and honestly never a bus issue I'd call and issue for us. I think a lot of it is allowing enough time.. we always give ourselves 60-120 minutes to get someplace ( like an ADR) ..we often arrive early and check the places out, check in for meals early ( thus getting in and out earlier).

We've used the buses twice now, and not by choice. The first time was when we parked at the TTC and planned on using the Epcot monorail until closing and then back to the MK til midnight. All monorails went offline(March 10th of this year around 1pm) so they brought in buses to take us all to Epcot. The whole thing took almost an hour.

The second time was on the trip last month. We took the boat from POFQ to DtD and it started to rain lightly. There was lightning so when we showed up at the Marketplace dock they told us we had to take a bus. It was highly unorganized and it took about 45 minutes to reach the FQ stop, since we had to make all 3 RS stops first.

Now these might have just been bad luck happenings, but it was enough to convince us to NOT count on the bus service. We'd rather not give up 60-120 minutes of our time waiting on Disney transportation when we can count on ourselves to be there faster.

I get it. It has taken us up to an hour before, but never in the A.M., only at park closing. I still hate to drive more than I do to wait for a bus. We actually have a good time on the bus...shootin the breeze and hearing peeps take on their day/ trip.

Glad you're having fun, OP!!i hate to blame Disney for this stuff.

They always tell people to allow 60-90 minutes to travel.

I suppose it is possible for someone to allow 90 minutes to get from one place to another and have Disney mess it up...but I would bet it is exceedingly rare. I think most of the time, it is people underestimating how long it can take. They don't believe it really can take 60-90 minutes, so they don't allow themselves enough time.

Oy, just slightly under two hours for us to go from Dinner at AKL Boma, to our hotel CS in April. Waited forever for DHS bus and the bus driver refused all of us waiting saying we had to go to MK. Now to wait for another MK bus to come. AKL all the way to MK and then back to CS. Nightmare, it was late and we were so tired. In route to MK I looked at my DS and I said why the heck didn't I just put us in a Taxi?
