OK, here goes!!!

I have noticed that, when you download audio files to a CD, Windows XP gives you the option to save them as audio, so you can actually listen to to that CD as an audio CD i.e. on a stereo syste, (I found this out purely by accident!).

Anyway, like all of you, I'm sure, I have downloaded zillions of video files. As far as I'm aware, you can only watch them on the PC. Now here's my question...

Can you download these video files to DVD-RW, and play them on an actual DVD player, and watch them on TV?

I apologise if this is the dumbest question, but I must know!!

Yes, or if you convert the videos properly, you can put them onto Video-CD's, so you don't even need a DVD Writer (although the quality isn't as good)

Nero is pretty good for making VCDs. However if you wish to view them on your DVD player you must make sure it is capable of playing VCDs.

Thanks for all your tips.

I have checked out the instructions, and it's way over my head :hammer:

I think I'd better stick to viewing them on the PC!!

Thanks again! :)

I've found some instructions need to be read two or three times before they start to make sense (MIRC being a good example).

Alternatively, see if your PC's graphic card has a SVHS outpt - it's a small circular socket about 1cm across. With the right cables you can link this into your TV.

I have now purchased a DVD-writer!!

I'm hoping that I'll be able to figure out how to use the thing! :hammer:

Any of you know of any websites that I should check out, for advice on downloading avi and wmv files to DVD-R via a DVD-writer??

Thanks :)
