At Disneyland next week

Hey kids,

After 11 some years, finally returning to Anaheim to visit Disneyland. Very fortunate. This will mark four years in a row at a Disney resort (previous three at WDW), and second time in three years I have visited Disney property twice in a year. Last time in Anaheim, in June 1999. There were mounds of dirt and an observation tower to look over at the progress of California Adventure.

Eleven years ago I spent less than a day in Anaheim, and it was awesome, but don't remember too much. Spent Friday and Saturday with my dad in downtown LA at a convention. He left early Sunday for home and I left for Alaska, by way of Anaheim. I definitely know I started my day in downtown LA awaiting for the city bus to take me to Anaheim. Day started out good. Met Robert De Niro, Edward Burns and director John Herzfeld, who were filming a scene of 15 Minutes. Even gave Mr. Herzfeld two quarters for a paper.

Spent about 12 hours at Disneyland, but don't remember much. Had an awesome time, though.

Anyway, fast forward to now. After a half-day of travel, will start bright and early Tuesday, at Knott's Berry and then close the night out at the Halloween Time party at Disneyland. Wednesday all day at Disneyland and Adventure, more concentrating on Adventure. I leave Thursday evening on a red eye back east, but have nothing planned that day.

Question: Do you think at least a half-day or so of leisurely wandering around Downtown Disney and touring the hotels will fill my time? Can you recommend some sights in and around Anaheim (on bus / foot) to bide my time before I leave for home?

Thanks!

Donwtown Disney is not very big. I don't think touring that and the hotels will fill your time. Is another day at the parks out of the question?
There is not much in the area to see otherwise.

Living close by, we often go over to the Disneyland area and spend two days just hanging out around Downtown Disney and the hotels.
It depends on the person. I love just chillin'.
A half day is very easy to kill in those areas.
The surrounding Anaheim area.....not so much.

Thanks for the tips. Yeah, in taking a look, I might spend half my time killing time at Downtown Disney and the other time killing time at Garden Walk. Have to try out 300, maybe like Ten Pin over in Chicago.

Maybe a half-day in the parks could be in order. Time will tell.

Thanks again!

There's even less to do at Garden Walk than at Downtown Disney. Garden Walk was pretty much a ghost town both times I was there last month.
