Amidst the talk about announcements at the D23 convention, I was thinking, do we believe that an Avatar-area at AK is going to become a "thing?" I'm sure this has been discussed; however, as of June 29th, 2013, do we think Disney actually will go through with it?

I'd love to hear your honest opinions on this matter! Why or why not would Disney go forth with this project? Is there anything that should take priority, and at the end of the day, will take priority?

I believe something will happen within camp-minnie mickey due to the construction of the new FOTLK venue. But that something could be shut the area down and throw up some fake bushes to block the view

Yes. The new FOTLK theater is actively being built. And the company has stated 2013 was the start date for construction starting so they can still be on target for that. And the insiders on here -- who were typically skeptical of Avatar happening -- have tended to all agree that it is progressing at this point and that it is more likely that related projects (a night time show) are going to not happen than Avatar itself.

I think I agree with you. I wonder if it will be a good business move. I personally never was a fan of Avatar… If Disney continues with their plans, I hope that they can change my mind.

The latest post in that thread was from a couple hours ago, so the thread is up to date.

Personally I see no reason at this point to believe it won't happen. As others have said, the FotLK move is currently in progress and from the very beginning Disney has said that construction would start in 2013. Avatar was an unusual project because it was announced much earlier in the development process then we are used to.

Don't take it personally, it just that for people who read these boards on a regular basis it's much easier to have conversations on major projects discussed in a single thread, instead of have to follow multiple threads on the same topic. The mods will probably merge this thread into the existing one for Avatar.
