I managed to catch the 5pm demonstration of ASIMO even though it had been pouring right up until 4:55. The demonstration takes place at the World ShowPlace, former site of the millenium village (I believe). Being a bit of a tech nut, I thought the demo was awesome. It walks, talks, dances, and climbs stairs. It can even convey some very interesting emotions which were usually good for a laugh. 3 lucky children are picked before the show to participate in an on-stage "contest". All 3 were winners this time, and I'm doubting its any different at any of the other demos. They walk away with some ASIMO related prize.
The presentation of the show was really slick, with lighting effects, big screens and all that. Plus the outdoor thunder and rain actually added a really neat touch. If you're into techie kind of stuff, the demo is highly recommended. Just don't expect ASIMO to be tall, its kind of short at 4 feet.
