Sounds cool, I love seeing these old Disney relics! It's nice to have decent personal scanners for this sort of thing. These old paper treasures aren't getting any newer, so it's good to have a way to archive them before their condition wears away too much.

I've been scanning pieces of mine with my own scanner and trying to piece it together. It's a smaller scanner, so the effect is far from perfect with having to edit the pieces together. I'm now in the process of cleaning up the seams, creases and general wear using an image editor. I'll upload it when i'm finished, though it's going to be rather large in resolution and size when it's done. It just takes some time to clean it up in a manner i'm satisfied with.

And again i've got another "map" that I need to take a photo of before I scan it. Maybe i'll get my good camera out tomorrow and try to do that.

Does anyone besides me have the first and second edition of the Walt Disney World Explorer CD. My computer will no longer support it so I cannot watch it anymore. Really bums me out.
I quoted myself because I have a question. It appears that some people are still able to watch these CD's whereas I cannot. My computer just says that it's not able to show it. My question is why? Why is my computer, 2 years old now, unable to handle the disc's? Any clues? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?

P.S. my last one that I had for about 5 years couldn't either.

It does recognize and identify the CD title, but then gives me this message when I try to install it.

This program or feature "\??\E:\setup.exe" cannot start or run due to incompatibility with 64-bit versions of Windows.

I know that this is probably a simple message, but, computers and I just barely remain civil to each other and when it starts to talk to me in this manner I begin searching for the nearest cliff to throw it over. It's hard for me to believe that Windows would create a system that renders all historic forms nothing more then costly garbage. I could be wrong!

My last laptop was a Windows 7 which ran Both versions perfectly...Even with the Compatability tab changing it to Win 95 it had no problem...It could also be several other issues...Now the one I am using currently that has Windows 8 will not play it.....Luckily I have another computer that can run it as it has Win XP...

I have Windows 7, and it doesn't work. What compatibility tab are you talking about?

Also mine is a desk top (tower).

When you open the WDW folder (It's a subfolder inside) and go to the AUTORUN icon you right click to the Properties section where there should be a Compatibility tab...That is where you can change it or use the Troubleshooter button to help you out...

I've uploaded my copy of this map, which I scanned and pieced together best as I could, also editing out as much of the wear and tear as I could given my rather basic skills (mine had some tears, scuffs and holes that kind of obscured some of the details). It's far from perfect on my part, but i'm limited to a relatively small scanner compared to the size of the poster as well as my own limited image editing abilities. You can still spot seams and color variations where the paper was folded or where I spliced the individual scans together. I could easily go on and on trying to get it perfect but I just can't justify putting that much time into it, and i'm just not very good or experienced in image editing in the first place (i've also got a bit of OCD that would just force me to keep working on it without a clear end, if anyone else wants to clean it up some more then it's fine with me). I will warn people that it's quite large for an image (over 10MB and 4360x2980 in resolution). WDWMagic gives me an error when uploading (perhaps due to the size) so i'll have to use a different site.

Sorry I haven't uploaded anything from my other map yet. I'll get to it soon within the week I hope, i've been busy with other things lately.

All well and good, but really we would all prefer a great big stonking blue hat in front of the Chinese Theatre right? Right? .... No-one? ... oh ... ;)

Grade "A" Funny...
I would love to have one of the original 4' x 5' resort concept maps that hung in the contemporary and Polynesian rooms.

There's actually one on eBay right now but the seller wants (a maniacal, IMO) $9,999.00 and $1,000.00 for shipping.

Blathering blatherskite indeed...

I got that WDW explorer (bottom left) from Salvation Army a few years ago! Still have it too! :)

I also still have this which I found at Goodwill, like 5 years ago, if it's worth anything.
