Articulated characters

I recall a few years back there was talk of having a articulated Beast appear at the *Be Our Guest* Restaurant.

This was before New Fantasyland opened, and details were circulating about the new restaurant and some of the concepts that were being talked about including ones that were dropped ( such as the dinner show, etc. ).

The idea was to have a newly designed Beast appear to greet Guests, but a Beast with moving facial features.
Non-talking...just occasional eye blinks, ear twitches, eyebrow movement, etc.

That never did end up happening, but i always thought it would be a nice addition considering the enclosed location.

Even though Darth Vader can't be articulated because he's a mask/helmet, it would be so much more fun if they voiced him so he can talk smack and interact with guests (example: Megatron at Universal... I love this schtick). That guy has the a fun gig:

Yes, that's exactly what I meant when I mentioned him. Even Stromtroopers should be able to talk too, they wouldn't require a voice changer or anything just the casual sound effect from the helmet.

Bumping this thread since this sounds like an interesting topic.

I'm hoping that the rest of Mickey's friends might become a talking character that guests can meet in the future. Especially after how popular Talking Mickey has gotten with guests and most of them were amazed.

I would love to see Marie given an articulated head someday at least in some shows in Tokyo Disneyland. Especially since she can be heard talking at certain shows and parades at Tokyo Disney.

And after hearing that Pinocchio is going to appear for a brand new Christmas castle show in Magic Kingdom. I'm actually really curious to see what Pinocchio would appear like. Hopefully not as a face character like Smee and Hook were at Dream Along With Mickey.

I'm sure the Beast might someday become articulated after his redesign.

They are so Monet. (Good from afar but a mess up close).

Actually they are more like nightmare fuel up close.

I just remembered that they actually once made Pinocchio as a face character for Disney On Ice (But they don't count since they aren't in the parks) and again for one show at Disney Cruise Line years ago.

Storm Troopers can have a voice changer (really it is just an amplifier on slight overdrive to make the tinny sound). I think there is a member of the 501st on here than can help us with the facts. The voice changer is not that expensive. I think it could work.
