Arriving a night early and need advise...

Ok so Disney experts please help me. My family will be arriving one night before our scheduled check in at AKL by flight. My sister and I are driving and there will not be enough room in our car to transport the whole family. We are trying to save a few bucks and stay off site the night we arrive but be close to some outside attractions/ restaurants. So the question is...what is the cheapest way to get three people transported from the airport to an offsite hotel. Possibly a hotel near Universal Citywalk. I see that taxis run about $50. Rental car prices are about $65 for one night. Or is is worth it to spend a little extra and get 2 rooms at a value resort at 150/night? (July rates in mind) Found a good deal on a hotel right outside of Citywalk for $80 a night within walking distance to everything.Thanks!

I am a little confused by why you can't fit everyone in the car? Why not upgrade to a minivan(unless your saying there is over 7 people coming or maybe get two cars?
As for hotel, do priceline or hotwire. It's one night just make sure it's at least 3 stars and don't worry where it is, something is always nearby or has a good pool. Unless your right onsite at Universal which will cost at least 250 or more, your going to have have to drive to CityWalk. You could try to be near some of the other areas of Orlando with places to walk too. Something near Pointe Orlando will give you access to great restaurants and movie theater ect... see below a general idea of where I am talking. You should find a decent hotel for say 70 plus tax!

Its my personal car. I am driving from Maryland with three others in the car. I can't fit three more family members in my car to pick them up from the airport.Sorry should have been more clear.

I'd say either get 2 values for the night or drop off people at the hotel and then do a p/u at the airport! 2 values are really the way to go! Much less stress!!!!!!!!!!!

One other thought...it's not a bad one. You could rent a car in Maryland that is bigger. You won't put the wear and tear on your car, and you might be able to talk your local Enterprise or Hertz or whatever into giving you a great deal(I would not buy any extra insurance). Go online or just call them up and say look, I plan to rent a minivan(SUV whatevs) that can hold 6 people I'm calling around, tell me your best possible deal if I like it I'll even prepay, otherwise I'm calling the next place.
This would also give you car to transport to parks if you dont want to take AKL buses everytime, probably save you hours by the end of the trip

I will agree that two values is the answer but they are about $150 a night in peak season. And I had not really thought about renting a van to take down...good idea actually I can check into that! As far as making the trip back and forth to the airport. About how long does it take by car to get to the airport and back?

20 to 30 minutes tops to airport. We are renting a van from GA to Orlando for 563.00. We always buy the supplemental insurance. That covers the van no matter what happens or whose at fault. It's worth the 16.99 for the peace of mind. Most insurance nor charge cars pay the amount that the rental place will charge you for every day the car/van is out of rental. My insurance would cover everything else. That's up to you.
If you have AAA, go to their site and get their price and Enterprize will usually meet that price. The above price was for 8 days.

If you want the piece of mind sure, but even car rental people, if they were being honest would agree your better off not getting it. Also your credit card usually has you covered too.
