Arrival day

Is arriving on a certain day of the week better than any of the others? If we could fly in Friday night, Saturday, or Sunday, is one better than the other? Or would waiting until Monday have any benefits?

I normally prefer to check in on Sunday's if I have my choice, that or Saturday. Friday's tend to be pretty busy and check in can take forever. A lot of ppl start vacations on Fridays and all us that are close will go on Fridays for a weekend getaway. Saturday arrivals aren't to bad.

I like to arrive on a Sunday or Monday. The check-ins just don't seem to be busy then. Usually two families ahead of us if any. I've arrived on a Saturday before. Seems like everyone is coming in then. You can see the difference toward the end of the week when you walk thru the lobby.

That's the way I see it anyways.

Tuesday and Wednesdays are typically the slowest days. During peak times it's busy no matter what day generally speaking. If it doesn't make a difference for you what days you go it's nice to try and stay on slower days. For instance we did a quick trip last time and did Wednesday-Sunday. Next time we do a short trip we'll do Saturday-Wednesday. Same thing really just makes the last few days less crowded. Also depends where you're staying. We like staying around Epcot at Boardwalk or BC so going to epcot the 1st and last days make it easier for us. Same coukd be said with MK if staying at a resort along the monorail.

Tuesdays are the cheapest flights. Friday and Saturday nights usually carry a premium room charge, but if it's a seven night stay you'll have one of each no matter when you get there. I always do Saturday to Saturday because I like having that Sunday after the trip to unpack, do laundry, and get the house in order before going back to work on Monday.

We have never had any issues with check in. In all reality your only talking about an extra 15 to 20 minutes regardless of when you are there. The biggest things for us are hotels and flights. Obviously flight costs vary from day to day, we all know that. When it comes to hotels, if you are staying more than 7 days it is cheaper to stay week day to week day. You can spend several hundred more if you staying Friday to the following Sunday.

We normally do a Saturday check in. Its normally fairly quick and we seem to have an easier time with EARLY check in as well. Being about 2 hours away, we drive up early to check bags and start in at the parks. We've yet to not be in our room before we go to parks and we're there around 8 am. Seems like a lot of people leave friday night or early saturday for travel home.

we usually try to arrive Sat, Sun, or Mon. Fridays are very busy for check in as lots of people choose Friday to start their vacation. Also, we usually go in early May, so the weekends are always busier in the parks on theses days so we like to have our first days on the less busy park days so by the time the weekend comes up we are at the point where we need a mid-day rest and we do that on the weekend days

We drive most of the time so leaving on Saturday and getting most of the way there makes for a short trip on Sunday and leisurely afternoon/evening when we get there. We then feel like we start the week off with a full day on Monday.

I just rechecked my res. the cost was the same Tues to Tues as it is for Sat to Sat. Flights are less on Sat. This is why we choose Sat to Sat.

It all depends on whether there are an odd number of letters in the month that you arrive, or even ;)
WHOA!! SO NOT FAIR to attack my fear of odd numbers(no really, I have a thing about odd numbers!) Now I am going to have to re-plan my trip! LOL Although truthfully, odd numbers only bother me when it is something I can control such as thermostat, volume, etc. My entire family all make fun of me for it and years ago, my husband told my older son(he was 14 at the time I think) that when we got in the car, turn the stereo volume to an odd number and see what happens and Josh had no idea what to expect so he did it and I immediately turned it back to an even number and he started cracking up. It's just a weird little tic of mine that goes back as far as I can remember. It doesn't matter if the temp is more comfortable at 71, it has to be 70 or 72. Yeah, I'm weird..... My niece asked me "How is it that someone who hates odd numbers gets married on 3/23 and I replied "23+3=26 so go away" LOL

Sorry, I should have said more than 7 nights not 7 days. Adding a night to a Sat to Sat trip will be more expensive than adding a night to a Tues to Tues trip. Depending on the level of hotel and the time of year you are looking at anywhere from $70-$80 for a value up to a couple of hundred dollars for a deluxe.
