Landing at MCO at 6:24 PM
Checking in at OKW (via DME)
Dinner reservation at Paradiso 37 at 9:15 PM
Two young adults who can move quickly

Will I make it?

How are you getting to the resort? ME, rental car, towncar?

I'd say that as long as you don't hit any problems (late flight, last stop on ME if that's what you're using, traffic, long wait for the bus to DD, etc), it's possible. From airport gate to resort, when we take a rental car, and make a stop at a Target on the way in, we usually get to where we're going within 2 hours or a little more.

Yeah, Magical Express. Should have specified. That was my major concern. I've only used it once and I was seven years old. Word on the street is that it's more frequent and thus faster during the summer months.

From what I've read on OKW, I'd be more concerned about bus service at the resort. But since you're heading to Downtown Disney, you'll also have the option of boat as long as the weather is ok.

That should be do-able. Just don't expect to be able to spend too much time in your room before heading out to dinner. (And if there's some kind of delay along the way, perhaps be prepared to skip going to your room entirely until after you come back from dinner) But most likely the DME bus will be pulling into OKW at or before 8pm.

This also assumes you're using the luggage delivery portion of DME. If you wait for your luggage at the airport baggage claim, that'll easily add 20-30 minutes (or more) to your travel time. I'd suggest that you pack a change of clothes in your carry-on bags. When you get back from dinner, your luggage should be waiting in your room.

Unless you're 13 years old, this is impossible. :)

DME started on May 5, 2005. It was part of the Happiest Celebration on Earth theme that ran from May 2005 through November 2006.

I could have sworn it was our first trip when I was in second grade (would have been 1996 for the 25th anniversary). Did it exist under a different name? I guess it must have been 2005 (which I'm remembering as 2004, still too early), in which case I would have been 15 or 16. Regardless, I've never done it as an adult lol.

Disney did not operate any kind of official shuttle to the airport before 2005. It was most likely Mears (which handles the bus operation part of DME), but there would not have been luggage service, and the transport time may have been longer, as they often wait for fuller buses and make more stops than DME does.
