Arrival Date Question

Hey guys, so I'm a long-time poster on these forums and I'm mainly posting in the Imagineering forums. Recently, I was just accepted into the WDW College Program for Fall Advantage 2011 as a Merchandise Cast Member!

I'm so excited to get out there, but I have a slight problem that has come across in my invitation acceptance. I applied back for the position in January and only received one notification from them in February. Since then, my family and I have booked a vacation out to Disneyland for the first week of June as my parents' 25th anniversary family get-together. I just received my acceptance notification today and I have already put down the non-refundable payment for the housing/accomodations fees.

However, when I got to the section of filling out the arrival/departure dates for the program, there were only two available. One for May 18 and the other for May 23. As it is, those arrival dates are less than a month away already and I'm not even finished with school for these dates. There is a very, very slim chance that I could make it out to Florida on either of these days, especially when I'm away for the first week of June.

I know that the two other dates of the program were June 6th and June 13th. June 13th would be the perfect day for me to go out there, but it sppears to have been booked solid already. I realize that the schedule says that the program starts Mid-May/Early June, but the current dates don't give me the amount of time to even get out of school. Do you think it would be possible to be able to call the Casting department at WDW Recruiting and ask them if I could arrive on June 13? It is the only possible day for me to arrive. I'm completely stoked about doing the program, there's just this small infraction that has to be dealt with first.

The only Dumb question is the question never asked. I say give them a call and ask them. Know ahead of time that the worst that could happen is they tell you that your services are not needed. To me, that would be highly unlikely. If they could not accommodate you for a later date, they will probably say pick one of the two earlier dates, or try again next year. Either way, you won’t know anything unless you make the call first. Just keep a positive attitude!
